i would use plastic only for must do items; like a huge, unsightly nose, ears that hang way down...something that one would say, oh, my lord linda, look at the size of that nose. that type of thing.

why because with every good the PS does there is a bad side, the skin (the only one God gave you) once changed can not be put back the way it was. if there is a mistake or you don't like it, you won't come back to the way you were. repeated surgeries often just make the situation worse.

also if you use PS to correct something, the thing you put in need maintinance, just like the lawn mower, the fridge, the TV, eventually it will need maint. Like a breast aug., they will dry out, crack, lump up, harden, so how do you maintain what is internal. you get the picture.

PS is very good in some instances, but if it is to look prettier, if you already look at leaste OK, you are in for trouble and you can quote me on that. PS is a money making business for vain people, unless it is a necessity.

Think about this, take a 90 year old lady, you're mental picture; saggy, baggy, with wrinkles to boot. you're picture is correct, but some how THIS 90 year old lady looks, awsome, and she hasn't had PS. Why?

The answere; it's the person inside the person, the personality, and old lady that has a feel for herself, has a persnality, has zest for life, it doesn't make a difference what she looks like, it is more important what she is like. a young person is the same, more important what she is like.

To be honest yes i would have plastic surgery. I already had it done for a scar. If i had the money i would get it done ,if it makes you feel better why not? The only thing i disagree with is these Hollywood stars like Joan Rivers who is about 70 but has tried to turn the clocks back too far that is ridiculous.

As you have asked this in the Cancer section I assume you mean plastic surgery following surgery for cancer, breast reconstruction for women who have had mastectomies for example.

In which case yes, I agree with it. I personally didn't choose reconstruction after my mastectomy because I don't want to spend any of whatever time I've got left recovering from a major operation (and yes, it's a far bigger operation than mastectomy itself), followed by a series of minor ops or procedures.

As for non-essential plastic surgery - why anyone would want to go under the surgeon's knife when they don't have to is beyond me. I don't mean correction of disfigurements or facial features that affect a person's mental health, I would regard that as essential surgery if the person concerned wanted it. But just because you fancy bigger breasts (just be glad you've got two healthy ones, I say) or want to look younger... well I suppose it's your money. But the less I have to see of hospitals and surgeons the better.

Changing the way you look is always fun (sort of like a new outfit or pair of shoes). I had breast implants 12 years ago, but now I wish I would have never done it (because I didn't 'need' them). So, if you NEED plastic surgery (totally flatchested or breast cancer, crooked nose, lost alot of weight and need skin removal or lipo to "finish" up what you can't do on your own) then I am ALL for it. A person needs to feel good about themselves on the inside... fixing the outside is only a temporary fix (trust me, I know.... I've had a nose job, lipo and 2 sets of implants). As I get older I keep thinking what "else" I can do to look "perfect" (face lift, etc.). My advice would be to not start. It's very addicting!

I agree with plastic surgeries if it is for a medical condition or it improves a persons quality of life, i wouldn't have it just to change my appearance as i am happy with who i am,

Disagree mostly. It depends on the circumstances. But then again its completely up to the individual getting the plastic surgery!! But I wouldn't do it.

I say if you've got the money and it makes you feel better about yourself GO FOR IT. I had breast reduction surgery about 3 years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done for myself!

I am in agreement with them if it is medically necessary for either a birth defect or from an accident.

To just have plastic surgery for something that you don't think right on your body is not in my opinion correct.
