Neither, as a skeptic I think the endless debate and rude behavior on both sides is pointless.

I could not choose theism, even from an objective viewpoint. Or if I were to evaluate the arguments from an objective view theist's most compelling argument is pascal's wager and that is a really poor reason to believe in anything.

The more theist arguments I read here, the more convinced that if a deity exists, it does not want me as a follower. Either that or theists have absolutely no clue as to what evidence is....

Well "some" of the "more popular" arguments made by Christians on here I would have to say that the atheist might have a more convincing argument.

Yet, that is why I am here. To provide more intelligent, rational, and open minded thoughts in this great and ongoing discussion.

So if you asked are my arguments winning or the atheist, I would clearly say that mine were winning. But wouldn't we all? Otherwise they wouldn't be our arguments.

Can't choose... Its an inherently unsound argument, because at the core of every deists belief system is an unmeasurable, unquantifiable attribute.. that of "Faith". They say you can't argue with Fauth, and its true, because no matter how many holes you think you've punched in their argument, or how mnay proofs you need them to supply, their argument always comes back to Faith. That is the building stone of their arguments, and it is unlogical and irrational. Thus you can neither argue with them, nor decalre a winner. If this was debate style, though... I'd have to choose athiests by default.

On this site? Atheists. But basically because their stance is a simple one. The Christians have several good debaters, but they are far out-weighed by the idiotic responses by other Christians. What everyone needs to do is read a really good NDE.

Facts verses Mythology? Atheists-Winner

2007-09-17 04:22:46 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 3 1

No theist I have seen so far has acknowledged once that their questions about evolution/science are remarkably ignorant, often below 5th grade.

And they are. But they won't admit it. So what to do? Arguing from fear, ignorance and dishonesty is not particularly a better case than someone arguing from fact.

Unfortunately, most of the time, theists refuse to open there minds to FACTS, and at least consider some of our points, and I would like to say the atheists are winning, but i don't know how you would go about proving that.
