My son did the same thing. I'm slowly getting him back into the water. First , I would wash him with a washcloth in the tub (no water in the tub.) Then, I added a little water, but still washed him with the washcloth. I was very careful to avoid splashing or running any water on him, even if it was just dribbles from the washcloth. I even went almost two weeks without washing his hair as this is what really seemed to set him off. I now can put him in a tub with water and he'll play, but I still cannot rinse him with anything but a damp washcloth. I've also found that using bubbles as a distraction when he is starting to get nervous works too. I use both the kind you blow and the foam from the shampoo lather.

You are just gonna have to put her in the tub and hold her still until she realizes that your not gonna hurt her. Are you the only one who gives her a bath? Sounds like someone has made her scared of it.

Sounds like a phase some children go through. My brother's kids did. You just have to grit your teeth and bear it.
Secondly, at 13 months old, she doesn't get to decide if she takes a bath! You are the parent! You set the rules and she has to abide by them. If you let her get away with doing whatever she wants now, you're going to have a hard time down the road.

Very weird if she hasn't been traumatized by the tub in some way.
Is she just learning to walk? Some kids are so obsessed with that, they just can't bear to do anything that keeps them from walking.
I would keep bathing with her, making it as short as possible, until she is over this phase.

My daughter went through this too! Ahhh! : ) Have you tried a bubble bath? Or get those soap crayons so she can draw all over herself. Try not to push the issue too much, she will get over it hopefully quickly! Otherwise just give her sponge baths until she is ready, you could also tell her that she can watch her favorite movie/tv show after her bath. I hope that she gets over it soon! Good luck! : )

sometimes toddlers get strange ideas about them going down the drain with the water. they outgrow it. if you can, bathe her in a tub with no plug in the bottom.

Maybe try one of those inflatable tubs inside the big tub, that may make it seem more fun... stranger things have happened, right? lol Good luck!
