All I have to do is round the corner and baam a flashback. Sometimes is kinda scary because I am so in the old moment. If anyone has dealt with this what do you do to keep things manageable?

Hi! I know what you mean. I suffer from occasional flashbacks. Things I do are, collecting myself in a calm manner (as much as possible). Sitting quietly at home and trying to "relive" the experience so as to try to come to terms with it (in my case PTSD-gulf war trauma). Its not easy but it is manageable. Therapy with a psychologist is also a big help. Psychologists can't prescribe any meds but they usually work with a psychiatrist that they know and they can prescribe something for you if you really need. I try to do without meds. My thing is, I try to embrace the problem and "make friends" with it. You can live in harmony this way. Its not easy but its worth a shot. Hope this helps.

Accept it & move on. My roommate has them really bad & locks up her place like fortress. She is in a state of total panic every time she has a flashback.

If these are frequent, severe, and affect your regular activities, I think it qualifies as a mental illness that should be treated in psychotherapy.
