yes, you are right in that the father of Jesus is the Holy Ghost... which if you are trinitarian, it is confusing b/c that would make the father NOT the father of Jesus.
the reason you are confused is b/c of the trinitarian doctrine. it claims 3 dieties... 3 separate persons... in the Godhead. that's not scriptural.
maybe this will help w/ your understanding.
There is only ONE God ... His Name being Jesus. Jesus is God wrapped in flesh ... not a 2nd diety, (2nd person).
Jesus' body was the limited form of the unlimited God, the visible of the invisible & the finite of hte infinite.
let me explain...
speaking of Jesus, Colossians 2:9 says, "For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
that means that w/in the body of Jesus resides the father, the word & the Holy Spirit. He is ONE.
the only number ever associated with God in scripture is ONE.
the only time that 3 is used in the same verse as God is to proved that He is ONE! (1 John 5:7).
God is a spirit. the Holy Ghost is the same spirit but sent to earth on the day of pentecost to live inside man & interact w/ him. Jesus is the same spirit w/ flesh around it. all are one spirit.
that's why these scriptures make sense:
Isa.9:6- For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: (this refers to Jesus)
and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(this says that Jesus is the mighty God, everlasting Father.)
Matt 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
(this referring to the baby Jesus)
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
(Jesus is "God with us".)
John 1::1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(the "Word was God")
John 1:10 - He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
(who was born into the world? Jesus
who did the world not know? Jesus
who made the world? most people would respond "God". but as you can see, scripture says the same one made the world.)
God reveals Himself to man in the body of Jesus.
John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(who dwelt among us? Jesus
We beheld the glory of God in the body of Jesus. They are one in the same, just a different manifestation. Not two dieties - only one.)
John 1:58 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
(how could Jesus live before Abraham in the OT?? b/c Jesus is God. God always was, is & forever shall be.)
1 Cor 2:7-8 - But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
(this says if Satan had known that Jesus was God [& not another diety], he would not have killed Jesus b/c he knew he couldn't kill God.)
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
(in john 20:20-28 it explains that Jesus had been crucified, but not yet ascended & He appeared to the apostles, but one of the apostles, thomas, was not there. when thomas returned, the apostles told him that Jesus had been there, but thomas said he wouldn't believe them unless he put his finger into the print of the nails, and thrust his hand into Jesus' side, he would not believe. 8 days later, Jesus appeard to thomas & told thomas to put his finger into the print of the nails & put his hand into His side. thomas believed at that point that Jesus was God ... thomas' response to Jesus... "My Lord and my God."
... meaning Jesus was God, indeed. not 2 separate beings when saying LORD & God... but ONE & the SAME.
example,
scripture refers to the devil by saying "the Devil, & Satan"... Rev. 20:2 "And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,"
(we know only ONE Satan is being referred to here. the same type of reference is made about Jesus... "Jesus AND God", describing the LORD, NOT indicating there are 2 separate persons [unless you believe in 2 Gods]).
who is Jesus?
Rev. 22:13 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."
(GOD lives forever & ever ... always was, is & is forever. therefore, again, JESUS is the one speaking in Rev. 22:13, saying He is GOD.)
JESUS is the one who sits upon the throne in judgment...
read the scripture below ...
Jesus is the one ... "who liveth forever & ever" & has "created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
Jesus is called "Lord God Almighty"...
Rev. 4: 8-11 - 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
again, referring to the one who judges, JESUS ... again referring to Him as GOD ... in Rev. 14:6-7, verse 7 says to give God glory for "the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
so we know that JESUS is the one who sits on the throne in judgment, but verse 7 calls Him GOD.
again in Rev. 21:5-7, JESUS sits upon the throne & says,
"Behold, I make all things new. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I WILL BE HIS GOD, and he shall be my son."

Remember that the Holy Spirit, God the Father and God the Son are one, so yes it would make the Father of Jesus our Savior, God.
God, Jesus and the Spirit are one, and trying to rationalize this in human terms is a mystery and to involved to try to describe it on this forum, there are many books of great theologians that try to describe the mystery of the Holy Trinity but usually fall short of the fullness of its truth.
God bless and continue to grow by questioning.

Have you ever wondered why the people in the old testament never talked about the trinity or why you can't find the word trinity in the bible because it doesn't exhist. It's a pagan concept devised by the heathen nations around Israel if you put the word trinity in google you will find out shortly that many heathen nations believe in triune gods don't be lead by the doctrines and philsophies of men. There is only One God and it is evident throughout the bible. Deut. 6:4, Colossians 2:9 says that in him is all of the Godhead bodily in who you ask in Jesus is all of God. God has many titles his name is Jesus. If you look at Matthew 28:19 you will notice it says in the name of the Father, Son , Holy Ghost there is only one name which is Jesus. Throughout the book of Acts you wont find one single example of anyone being baptized in other name besides the name of Jesus. See Acts 2:38 and the rest of the book of Acts and you will plainly see. The bible says there is only one name where by we must be saved that name Jesus. Ephessians 4:5 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism

My understanding of the Trinity is One God in the form of three persons, and those three persons are The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. I have a problem with those who call Jesus “Father.” He is not the Father. He is the Son. You made mention of Isa 9:6 which reads in our English Bibles to be five names, but in the Hebrew it is only one name: “Wonderful in Counsel is the mighty God and everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.” This is a definition of “God with us” which is the literal translation of Yoshua.
You seem to have a lot of questions lately about the JWs and the LDS’, and said yourself that their not Trinitarian belief make their Jesus a different one form ours. I don’t believe that it’s a different Jesus, but that they simply have some wrong information about the same Jesus. I do not believe that we need to understand the Trinity to be saved, but I do believe that we need to trust in Jesus and not in our works.
As for the Holy Spirit, I don’t really like to admit this, but I have a hard time making a separate person out of Him. I don’t see Scripture to back this up. I’ve been studying this book for 32 years. I don’t bring the subject up much, though. I just don’t want people to know that I’m having a problem here. If you’ve got something for me, let me know.
The only place that the three are listed together in the entire Bible is Mat 28:9 which is a direct translation from the Stephonas Text but all of the other CGT read “in my name” and not “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” This leads me to believe that we are to baptize in Jesus’ name only, but don’t get me wrong. I’m not one of those United Pentecostals or anything. I just do my best to understand the Scriptures.
I believe that request in prayer are to be made to The Father in Jesus name, and not to Jesus himself, but that Jesus is to be thanked and praised for all that he has done, and that he is to be worshiped right along with The Father. I’m confused about the Holy Spirit, though.

The Holy Spirit is God's active force that he uses to do his will. Such as he used his Holy Spirit to transfer the then spirit creature of his Son into the womb of the virgin girl Mary.
Much like today's invitro fertilization, but a miracle.

Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God the father are all connected as one, but God and the Holy Spirit are completely different.
Jesus was concieved of the holy spirit because God and the holy spirit are united.

I guess by "high Father" you mean Heavenly Father? The Holy Spirit is not the Heavenly Father himself he is simply the spirit of the Father or a spirit from the Father.

when the early Christians wrote the bible (in Greek - the international/scholarly language of the day), they referred to the holy spirit with a feminine pronoun, so it's more likely a holdover from a more gender-balanced form of monotheism (keep in mind, the Hs of YHVH are also feminine elements)

Jesus was actually a Rabbi named Yeshua ben Yoseph. Paul took this beloved rabbi and created a "christ" using the same old story of many many other deities, born of a virgin, 12 disciples, died and 3 days later rose again.
That myth was definitely over used. What surprises me is why did people continue to buy that same old story told over and over about deity after deity? You would think that someone would have been intelligent enough to say, 'hey this story is getting old!". Paul should have been a little more creative.
