Okay so ever since I was little I have had nightmares. I rarly have good dreams. Recently though I have had several reoccuring dreams. 1st one is that I am outside somewhere looking up at the sky. I see planes flying and some just enteriing the sky from the gound. (I also see helicopters). At some point I get a weird feeling and then suddenly as I look up the planes just drop and fall to the ground. I have to literally run to get out of the way of each one as it seems to come toward me. They miss hitting me each time. 2nd dream is me at home (or at a place I lived before..it always changes location) and I am looking out the window and see a big tidal wave coming. I am not near the ocean. It looks like it the movie Day after Tomorrow. But just not AS large. I am often alone but also with my husband or others. We always make it out alive. Even though the water hits our home it never enters. Not sure why. Okay and the last reoccuring dream is of Tornados. I have this ...

TORNADOS. I live in Houston and yes we have tornados sometimes. I have yet to be in one. Well I fear them. (never feared earthquakes in CALI). Well I have this reoccuring dream that I am looking out my window (different homes/locations and sometimes alone or accompanied) and I see a tornado heading our way. I keep looking out the window and even if it hits our home we live. Another tornado dream is us driving down the Freeway in a Van and we see a tornado right there next to us picking up other vehicles. We quickly turn and head to the overpass and hide under there. We make it every time. Sure I have other scary dreams but these are the ones that reoccur. I have had these dreams each over 10 times I am sure. Can any dream interpreter tell me what this could mean? Thanks

I have dreams of tornados all the time. In fact, check out the last question I posted (Wanna ride a Tornado???). I believe a tornado represents sudden, unpredictable change. It also represents a point of no return, complete and utter destruction of the past, and chaos. Sounds like my life!!! LOL j/k!!!

Anyway, I think that those of us who dream of tornados are going through or is soon to go through some type of sudden, unpredictable, life changing event. It could be a good sign or a bad sign in your dream. A tornado is a neutral thing. It isn't bias toward one thing or another. It's purpose is one thing, change. Think about that concept in reality. When someone becomes a victim of a tornado, what happens? They are a victim of a sudden, unpredicted, life changing event. It created a bit of chaos and destroyed the past (a house, personal property, and in some cases takes a life). Also in reality, a tornado randomly picks it path, not selective as to which house to spare or destroy.

In a dream, a tornado sometimes picks and chooses what it will do. Or so it seems. Your dreams of the planes crashing or the tidal wave parallel along the same lines. But take a closer look. And you'll see what the "disaster" was and reason it came.

The outstanding symoblism in each of the dreams that you describe is that you seem to have some protection or shield from these life threatening disasters. Though these dreams are frightening, they are not really nightmares and I believe that if you start thinking about them as good omens, even if they don't go away, they won't frighten you as much.

Here is why I say they are good omens. You always survive against dire odds (planes - or sky? - falling, floods, tornados). You are sometimes alone, but you mention that family is sometimes with you, an in all but one, you are in your home. Home and family represent foundations, strength, security and a feeling of belonging.

The first dream, of the planes and helicopters is interesting in that it is different from the others. You are alone, you are outside and this is not a natural disaster. I would ask if you had the dream before the attack on the Twin Towers? If not, this might be a new fear (as it is for many of us), that there is an unseen enemy threatening our every day lifestyle in America (here America is your home - the group/family you belong to). Though it isn't a natural disaster, many Americans feel as helpless against these terror attacks as we do against Mother Nature.

Hope this helps. For more of my dream interpretations offers, visit Ebay and search gypsywillow54873.

These types of dreams about planes falling out of the sky, tidal waves, and tornadoes are symbolic of troubles to come. To be honest, they are warnings from God about trouble that is headed you way and He is showing you that you will be placed in a safe place when trouble does come. I have the same dreams also, that's how I know.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To look up at the clear blue sky in your dream, denotes peace and freedom of expression. If the sky is cloudy and overcast, then it foretells of sadness and trouble.

Your having dreams of your fears. I have them too. Either you think about them while your awake and have bad dreams about them, or you don't think about them, but you fear so much that you dream about them. It's probably just paranoia. Do you worry a lot? Do you have anxiety? Those could be reasons too why you have bad dreams. Nothing bad. Maybe talking to someone about your fears will help you in the future.
