wouldn't that be it? Shouldn't one side of the theist version rule over all others and even be convincing enough to convince myself and other atheists?

There isn't concrete evidence that God exists. So, obviously, there isn't any concrete evidence that shows one religion should rule over another.
As for the very notion that "one theist version rule over all others"
Unfortunately, there are those who actually believe the notion you mentioned.
Personally, I find the idea a bit scary....

Not necessarily. Satan is behind the emergence of all the other religions. Including all the denominations within Christianity. It is very difficult for someone to come to the knowledge of the truth. It takes honesty on the part of the seeker and a willingness to really find out the truth no matter what it may be. Many people refuse to do this because of resentment for a certain group or plainly put, because of the love for their sin. Many people don't view things as sin that the Bible says are sins. Some people know too much about the Bible and have already dismissed it because it tells them that they are wrong. You see, the Bible says that broad is the path that leads to destruction and narrow is the way that leads to everlasting life and there are few that enter in at that path. The prince of this world is Satan. Everything is set up against you. Satan is destined for hell. He knows this and is trying to take as many people as he can with him.

Vous avez raison. Monsieur! In other words, you are correct here. There is no real evidence to support the existence of any gods, but some people want to believe such nonsense. Reality is never popular with immature men. Con men tell suckers what they want to hear, and these suckers will defend the ones who con them, because they want so badly to hear their lies of "Pie in the Sky, By and By". No one presents any real evidence that his religion is the true one, because they are all fantasies.

You're absoultely correct. The reason there are so many religions, is because they are not based on anything substantial. If god had his own prime time show, there would only be 1 religion.

One would think so. Of course, if you follow a given religion you most likely think that it's the most believable.

Good point. All our beliefs are speculation anyway.

You are going to see the religious fanatics that claim it is true because of the buy-bull. I don't buy it.

Yes, but there is no empirical proof, and so everyone has their own literature and theory.
