When someone asks a question such as this I think of a Christian, German concentration camp guard at Auschwitz in 1944. He has a loving family who he takes to church every Sunday without fail. On this day, he is leading a family of Jews to their deaths in the gas chamber. Here's where things get confusing for me. According to the bible, all the German guard must do is accept Jesus as his savior and the son of god and ask for forgiveness of this terrible sin of multiple murders of innocent victims, and he will dwell in heaven forever when he dies after living a long and fruitful life. The innocent Jewish family, however, because they don't believe just as the German does, after having their lives cut miserably short and not allowed to bring up children have, grandchildren and enjoy the other niceties of life like the German will enjoy, will burn in hell for eternity. That's just sick man.

To accept the Jesus not only in title and ceremories, but also in heart and personal moral levels. Accept the crisis and love all including one' s enemies. To have the willingness of living thankfully regardless of feeling great or suffering, and perform selfless prayers as a daily habit. Never seek revenge and always appreciate differences. Also to believe in other human as much as his father.

It sound difficult, and fear was used by Jesus was used as a strategy to make people believe in his words, alone with magic tricks and happiness and love.

We dont know exactly why the church didnt make use of his life as a teaching until 5th century, 500 years after his death. That caused seperation within that faith corportaion (Roman catholic). It was a shame.

good point. Some Christians do indeed claim acceptance is part of the salvation--I'm not one of them.

I purely believe only God saves, and that accepting Him is a first response by a person acknowledging God's work. In other words, accepting God's work is an action showing God has done something and saved you.

If I didn't believe Jesus is the real God, I certainly am not going to accept Him...that was what it was like before God saved me.

I don't believe midnite n goes far enough in saying that acceptance is a reaction to God's grace. In my opinion, it is a MISGUIDED reaction to God's grace. We do nothing but believe, because that belief is given to us. To say that we have to authorize that salvation, is a big mistake and points to humanism and arrogance, however the Arminians try to mask it in humility.

Yes, it is a deed. Glory to the person that "chose" Christ, and glory to the person that presented Christ to the converted person. And then God's grace follows. Not! Grace proceeds faith, the Holy Spirit brings us to believe in God and the saving work of Jesus Christ, we don't bring ourselves to him. We're supposed to be dead, remember?

John B, Ive seen you copy and paste that alot. Why dont you find another story too give so much thought and care into?

Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is spiritual. What we dont need is works of our flesh, too be saved ie; baptism, lord's supper, all the 1000's of other things Christians do for victory.

All faith must be placed in the finish work of the Lord Jesus Christ. amen 8)

That is proper faith without works is dead. Meaning if your faith isn't placed right, your works mean nothing. They will be burnt up by the fire.

If someone gives you a present for your birthday is it work to take it graciously, something bought for you out of love. Jesus death on the cross is a free gift from him given to you. Accepting a gift is not work. Jesus died to pay a debt you cant. If i offered to pay your car payment you might owe me but you owe Jesus nothing (assuming you have a car payment) Eph 2:8-9 says we need to do no work to get to heaven. Work is something done expecting payment. God doesn't owe us heaven it is a gift.

Scripture says that accepting Christ is the only way to get to heaven and that is all anyone has to do to gain salvation, but it also says that faith without works is dead.

When you except Christ and Believe in him.........this is faith......But faith without works is dead.

If you truly serve Christ you will do the works of the Father that sent him.

So in reality you show your True Faith in Christ by doing the works or deeds as you put it.

The word LOVE is a verb that demands action,...........Don't tell me you love me.............but show me that you love me.............this is a famous quote from women.......none the less it is true.

They come as a package. Over and Out!
