Mouth ulcers starts off with a sort of tingling or burning sensation at the spot where the future mouth ulcer will occur. After a few days, a blister forms in the mouth with the top quickly sloughed off resulting in a red spot or a bump, which will then be followed by an open ulcer. The mouth ulcer appears as a white or yellow oval with an inflamed red border. Sometimes a white circle or halo around the lesion can be seen. The gray, white, or yellow colored area within the red boundary is due to the formation of layers of fibrin around the ulcer.
There are several ways to prevent and manage mouth ulcers. However, the best prevention of the disease unarguably requires sound dental hygiene which eliminates the presence of harmful microbes in the mouth. Avoid or reduce spicy, acidic or salty foods and drinks which tend to predispose to it. The use of antibacterial solution at http://www.oramd.com/ will help a lot to get rid of mouth ulcers.

My girlfriend has this, and our dentists both tell us that this is probably due to the chemistry of her saliva.
For instance, I rarely get canker sores / mouth ulcers and really don't need to worry about cavities; my girlfriend brushes regularly but gets sores and cavities all the time, supposedly due to the acidity of her saliva.
This might just be a natural part of your daughter's saliva chemistry, in which case it might help for her to occasionally gargle with baking soda, drink more water, or try to use a baking soda toothpaste to help neutralize things. I'm not sure how old she is, but sometimes, chewing sugarless gum can help a little with this too.
I'd ask a dentist for more information and possible explanations... I definitely wouldn't rule food intolerance out. If you wanted to, you could keep a simple 'food journal' and attempt to trace occurences of ulcers / sores to common elements in her diet.

I've had mouth ulcers all of my life. I've always believed it to be a product of too much acidity since I've had stomach ulcers too. Of course dentists and doctors will tell you that mouth ulcers are a form of Herpes. And I believe that's true in some cases, but mine always develop from biting my mouth or tongue, so I don't feel that's true in my case. Your daughters rash sounds like it just may be. I would suggest asking your doctor.

Sounds like plain old canker sores . they tend to run in families and are just painful for about a week. Some doctors think they are caused by a virus. I have had them all my life and my kids all get them too. Can be from eating too much acid , tomatoes ketchup that kind. And I take daily L-lysine tablets and vitamin b complex and they seem to help a lot.

Mouth ulcers are very common in Celiac Disease. I would highly suggest you check out these sites and see if she has any other symptoms that fit. Follow YOUR gut and be firm with her docs. All it takes to start testing is a simple blood test. I spent fifteen years sufferring bc no one believed me! Once gluten free, I NEVER get mouth sores anymore!!
