I know you guys are tired of reading the same question asked in so many different ways, and so am I.
But, I am asking ths question again, because one... I have a friend who is cheating on his wife, but when the script was flipped and she started to give him a dose of his own medicine. He went off. Now, he has been removed from their home for a year. And, still that has not changed his behavior, he is still seeing the other woman, but more openly. And, secondly, I have an English paper that is due... I decided to write about this particular topic.

because human being are never satisfied with what they have, we are always wanting to have more and pushing ourselves in situation which is unsuitable, for our marriage, family etc
i think on the whole that those who cheat are just plain selfish

I think the entire thing is about the forbiden fruit. It is just in our nature to want something we can't have, and if you are married, any other woman can be considered forbidden fruit. Also, I once with out with a man, later finding out he was already married. Of course we never went out again, but he did talk to me about why he went out on his wife. He said that after you have been with one person for so long, it's good for your relationship with your spouse to cheat a little. It also makes the person feel younger again. Hey, I think the guy was nuts, but It shows that a lot of people view things differently.

i have always wondered the same question but i think they cheat b/c 1. they are just not happy with how things are going 2. they do it for payback if their partner cheated. 3. some do it just for the hell of it. 4. they do it b/c they think they have found better then what they have but most of the time u end up finding worse. Really I don't know why people cheat b/c i can say that my ex told me the reason why he cheated on me was b/c i was always bitching at him and he just wanted to get away from it. but i think his friends influenced him so to. but good luck

someone cheats because they either
a) like playing the field and having grown up
or
b) you don't eat out when the fridge is stocked at home; meaning if you are not getting what you need from a relationship that was there in the beginning but denied years later, chances are it's human nature

since you are writing a book, I suggest you see it in all aspects...spiritual, social, physical emotional and mental...
there is a lot of books that explain the "phenomenon"
it is the hormon dear... the developing hormon in the body that cannot be hold up..

there are people who feed their insecurities by being with different persons in relationships... when they are with the other "man or woman", it gives them the boost of their self-confidence and they think they are in control of everything. but of course, they are just fooling themselves... having more trouble and not achieving peace... its self-destruction.
