My exwife was bipolar and very decitful, she had opened a P.O. Box had all the late notices and collection notices sent there, she eventually went to jail for $15k in bad checks on closed accounts, but in the mean time she had destroyed my credit she had opened several credit cards in my name without my knowledge, i tried to claim identity theaft but they told my because we were married at the time I was stuck with all these bills, how can I fix this???

did you file a police report for the id theft? if so get copies and send to the credit card companies fraud division and they will work to remove the items.

You need to make sure that all the credit cards are closed and that she is not charging any more. Check your credit reports. Then call the banks and try to come up with a plan to pay them.

No, no, no. If your name is not on the card then you are not responsible for the debt. File a police report.
Provide that report to the credit card companies, then demand that the credit card companies provide you with a contract that has your signature. No signature means no responsibility for the debt.
