Even when it was still under Saddam where their military are well under controlled they cant beat Iran.
Even with US troops which is abt 100,000 they cant beat Iran; The US troops in Iraq with lacked of langguage knowledge, how do you expect to win?
Then what abt the not understanding the culture and the religion, makes Vietnam war looks easy.
PLus the relation ship between Shiite Irag and Iran which is the strongest and very strong, makes Mr. GWBush and all US Military leaders look quite ignorant.
American soldiers with their easy living and well fed plus lack of militancy, will not add much to Iraqies military, for sure it's just a strain for them.
I bet they dont even like to go if they have choice.
Iraq military cant even handle their own country turmoils , and worst w the help of US soldiers.
Imagine we get help from the deafs and the blinds (they dont understand the language and the culture). Lol.
Frustration frustration frustration.
Mr Bush and Howard forget that their thinking just make Chinese and Russia look so much better.

If they attack, America would finally have precedence to turn Iran into a giant pile of radiated glass. Iran knows not to attack Iraq while so much of the US military are in Iraq. They'll at least play the waiting game until a major troop withdrawal has took place. So the answer is, alone Iraq couldn't fend off an attack by Iran, but Iran is smart enough to play the game of global chess.

Well I dont think Iraqy's military would fight Iran anyway.
They are so closely related, in culture, family, religion, langguage .
I think America is not wanted in Iraq anyway after Saddam is toppled down.
Unless America would pour lots of dollars they will pretend that they like the Americans.
Otherwise, NO.
Maybe Mr GWBush cant see that, amazing that lots of American citizens cant see it either , they work hard they pay their tax and spend to Iraq.
I read today article abt Greenspan's interview. Poor American, their effort paying taxes are wasted.
If I were Iraqi , I'll take the money, but be friendly with Iran.
