You would probably need a court order to have the phone company locate the phone. In this case, where you have lost it, they may want to charge you for the service. Call them and see. In any case, if you haven't reported the phone as lost you need to do that ASAP. You could be responsible for any charges on the phone until you report it as lost. If some unscrupulous person uses it it could cost you a lot of money.

To track a mobile phone... Only the service provider can track the lost phone. Every phone has it code number ( in NOKIA phones it's called the IMEI number ). This number is registered to your name on the time you obtain your connection. Therefore when you or the one who took the phone make a call it keeps it record. So your Service provider can track which telephone number is using your phone ( obviously the service provider will have the contact details of the telephone number owner ). The hardest part it that.... when the robber uses another service provider. Since the service provider is difference.... they might not get you the user details as it's illegal. And of course you can do it if you have a police warrant.. Good luck! ( hope you'll find the phone )
