Parents are not always right. Parents make mistakes too.
Make the right choices for yourself. You won't have your parents to make your choices for you forever. What will you do when they pass away, will you be able to make your own choices? It seems that you'll still be alone 20 years from now if you continue to let them push people you love away. This is only my opinion and it is based on my own upbringing and culture. Do whats best for you.

Negative karma is not generated in this way. As an adult you have a duty and a right to be self-determined; what you owe your parents at all times is respect, not unilateral obedience. This doesn't mean that their comments aren't valid or that their concerns aren't real, it just means that you have a right to your own triumphs and mistakes alike....that's the growth process, and blind deference to someone else's wishes (no matter how well-intentioned their wishes may be) robs you of necessary growth. Good luck to you as you develop your own adult legs.

You should tell them that you are old enough to decide for yourself. Who's life is it anyway? Sure you don't want things to go sour with your parents, but damn if you keep on doing what they tell u to, you will be 40 and still don't have a boyfriend and never know what it feels like to be young. Be honest with them and tell them how you feel.

omg! you are a grown woman! you can fight for the military, buy a house, drink, vote, but you can't go on a date? if anyone's gonna experience negative karma it would be your parents for not allowing you to live your life. if i were u i'd move out and get started on my own. you are being held back & its sad â¥

I think now you just have to ignore your family and go out and live you own life without their guidance, I know that you probably don't want to hurt their feelings, but enough is enough.
You have to take your own path in life, you can't live in your parents shadow forever......

try to have a one-on-one talk with your parents... lay it out front with them that its time for you to make your own decisions but of course, you will still have their guidance... its about time that you will gain some independence because you are an adult now... and i think it would help if they really get to know your bf... it might let them know the real him and change their minds about him...

you don't need permission.... hello... you are a grown up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so grow up tell your parents what is up with you and your new guy... and leave it at that.
they don't have to like him, you are the one dating him.
