God by definition is not limited by the borders in which our total reality is fit in. You are asking to understand the nature of God (by which I think is possible to a smaller degree) but if we were able to logically apprehend and comprehend God he would quit being God. If we could lay out God in a mathematical formula or present him as limited so that we can understand him, again He would no longer be God. We must crumble in humility, but I recognize that I have put the cart way before the horse. There are basically two options based on the knowledge we have. We know for all practical purposes that the universe had a definite beginning in time. I could quote the most prominant scientist that are atheist or believers and this would be accepted as a reasonable fact. However, trying to explain the beginning of the universe has caused much trouble as the laws by which our universe is governed are not sufficient to explain the beginning of our universe. So the choice becomes that nothing created something, or Something created something. The choice again is, that mindless unintelligence caused sophisticated intelligence or Supreme intelligence cause sophisticated intelligence. I choose Something, I choose Supreme Intelligence, I choose God, but to then turn around and demand to understand an infinite being and make him limited to fit into our limited abilities and perimeters would be oxymoronic and prideful. If we solved the mystery of the majesty that is the Most Holy he wouldn't be quite that great and unlimited would he. We are talking about two completely different plains of existence. It is like a knat picking a fight with a 747, it is futile.

I used 2 think about that a lot but I also can't find the answer. Maybe God exists without the creating process. Maybe God was created by this universe. But who knows??? Trying 2 understand God is just like trying 2 dry the ocean with just a small pile.

All evidence shows that god was created by human beings. Early people were afraid of the dark and the unknown, so they created stories that would explain away their fears. These stories became ways to control people's behavior and are today being used to create wealth and power for a few.

God has created the Universe, God is running the Universe. God will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin of Universe. God is the Destination of Universe. Spirit can neither be created nor be destroyed. It moves from one body to another. Your body dies, not spirit. Your spirit gets new body after death, based upon your actions in this life. Your target is to make your spirit pure, so that it can merge in Super Spirit (God). Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow.

I have to agree with usafbrat.
Going back about 35 years to Catechism class we learned the attributes of God. The one She refers to is Omnipresence.

That's the big question that no religion can answer. They'll just tell you that "God always was," or something like that. But of course, that's not an answer.

This is what's called a "mystery". It means that we, as humans, will probably NEVER know the answer to this question (even tho it appears on here about every other day).
God has always existed. God will always exist.
That's about the best that we can do.

All will know the answer to this and more soon.
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

We create gods in our imaginations. They don't actually exist outside religious fiction.
