My best answer is email. I talk to a friend of mine daily that way. It is hard to send/recieve photos, but words go as easily as from me to you. Also, they love mail. Packages are a blessing.

Well it depends on if you have a few bucks or not. My sister sends her Husband movies she has made on her digital camera, burns them on to a DVR and mails them. They have a baby so this is a great way for them to keep her hubby in their sons life while he is in the "big sandbox" Emails are great but can be father impersonal. You might try making mini-cassettes and send them one so they can do the same. Sometimes the sound of your loved ones voice can be calming and help with the distance and besides they can look at them and hear them whenever they want. The folks over there do not always have access to computers.

Email. You have a computer. There are computers available in Iraq. If the person going is in the military, he may eventually have access.

Email is okay, you may get a phone call once in awhile, but nothing beats a letter and/or a package.
