There are so many false assumptions in your question it is impossible to answer.

America was never a Christian country. The only people who claim that are Christian revisionists.

Christians are welcome in the country but they are not welcome in politics. The fact that religion has infiltrated politics to such a great degree indicate thats Christianity in particular is NOT being destroyed. In fact, it is being artificially bolstered by media and a pervasive political agenda.

Your grammar, syntax, punctuation and spelling indicate an intellectual level most pro-Christians eschew.

America does not have "a religion."

Religion did not settle and bring about our country. Intellectual understanding of history taught our founding fathers the importance of separating Church and State.

Fundamentalists constantly try to misinterpret this fact: The architects of the Constitution were atheists and regarded all religion as equally dangerous.

Religion, in particular Christianity and Islam, are violent repressive religions that are directly responsible for much of the world's woes.

You are allowed to observe any religion you want, so long as you keep your nose out of other people's business and especially out of politics.

I believe that the native American Indians where a very spiritual lot. At least those that managed to survive the geonocide carried out by your pilgrim Christian forefathers. I'd lose the puritanical attitude, the first Christians to your country were murderers. Oh yeah, slavetraders too ... and don't forget about the Salem witch hunts. See, this is the problem when a majority religion has the power, unfortunately they use it.

I should not answer this question as I am Buddhist but in my openion, I think that 2007 years ago, the autobiography of Chistianity should be changed by the Jesus Christ's follower with good hope to the age of scientific which can prove the fact. People who believe in fact and science will against your Christianity till now.

The subdivision of Christian is the pretty evolution of Christianity which be suitable for place and time and also the leadership. It like Buddhism in Japan, China, Burma, Cambodia or Thailand which are difference from other but they are the same Buddhism and not fight together. Sorry for my text.

What is the religion of this country?

Would that be the same one that Thomas Jefferson resisted adding a direct reference to, in Virginia's statute for religious freedom?

"Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting 'Jesus Christ,' so that it would read 'A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;' the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination."

There is no national religion. If there were, it would have been stated in the Constitution.

A re-interpretation of the freedom of religion, also the addition of the separation of church and state.
Separation is re-defined to mean the church cannot be in or influence any part of anything with the governments, what it is supposed to mean, is the state is not supposed to endorse any particular religion.
If you look at the history, when this was written, the founding fathers had examples they could point to showing the need for a hands off approach.
What was freedom of, is now freedom FROM.

The first Jewish settlers came to the U.S in 1654.

The Revolutionary War was funded largely by, guess who, Sephardi Jews.

Research before you post such fallacies. Misconceptions such as yours are part of the destruction of the U.S.

google 'Mikveh Israel' , you will find some good historic data on early jewish communities.

What makes you think the Christian religion is being destroyed? All the evidence I see is that Christianity is alive and well. There's at least a dozen Christian churches within five miles of my home and I live in a semi-rural part of Washington state which is statistically one of the least religious states.

This country has many freedoms and that some times makes it to easy to forget the important thing in your life should be God! Spiritual wealth is everlasting and that physical wealth is only temporary! Society is to impressed with the physical wealth and bases your success on how much physical wealth you possess. They are so often in spiritual poverty and are
influenced by immoral practices such as trying to destroy faith in God and religion. We can a chose to follow the Lord or to forsake him...... But I know as a believer in God I am no longer a servant but a child of God and I shall go to Heaven!
That is something that is more precious to me than anything on Earth!

Maybe the attitude of individual, independent enquiry produced by the Reformation devolped a nation not of studious, virtuous and well - informed believers in Protestant values as the Founding Fathers hoped, but instead eventually a nation of self-indulgent scoffers?
