Hi All,

Recently i got an offer from Tanjung Rhu Resort for the position of software developer with a monthly salary of 3900USD per month.

If any one in Malaysia please tell me is there any hotel in Malaysia with this name..and what is the guarantee that he will take my eyes and kidneys and leave me alone on the road(Extreme case)...

And one more doubt i have is that a resort is recruiting for Software positions...How far it is believable????

And in the offer letter he mentioned like this We will send u the flight tickets once your Immegration formalities are over.....And it is also mentioned we only have to bear the processing/mobilisation charges...

And the importnat thing i dont know is..How that guy got my mail address...Actually he called me from Malaysia and took an formal interview..

i am in big confusion please help me in this reagrd..

I think there's a place called Tanjong Rhu in Langkawi - an island off Malaysia. Very nice place and there's probably a very fancy hotel there. I'd check it out on the internet and with the Malaysian Embassy. If you find it, ring up as the hotel as somebody else and ask about the person who contacted you to see if he's bona fide. If he is there, phone him up and ask him where he found you and check back that way. You could try the airline too. They might be able to help you with who booked the flight for you. If you smell a rat, there's always the police, of course. This far away, they probably can't help you practically, but I'm sure they'd give you good advice. The more people who know where you are and who you are meeting etc, the safer you'll be. Good luck. Hope it's all true and that you enjoy the job.....if you take it.

Do you remembr the name of the person who called and interviewed you? Call him at the Tanjung Rhu Resort and speak to him. If he confirms the job offer, tell him to fax the letter of employment to you.

I am suspicious because:-

1) there are plenty of IT professionals in Malaysia, why wld they hire an expatriate?

2) the salary of USD3900 is way above the market rate for such position.

3) the immigration dept will not approve the employment unless they can justify with good reasons.

Find it out. It is easy. Dont believe it until you verify it.
