gwhiz1052 you do not understand the concept of eternity...it does not matter if a day is a million years...it is still eternity...WITHOUT END...EVER. That's the bit that worries me.

i felt compelled to answer this question as i know exactly were your coming from to live forever how ever perfect in a world with no sin were we all prance around with the animals and are happy and floaty all the time is to me not a great thought. If everyone took just one minute to figure what eternity means they would also figure how god-dam boring this would be,everything has to come to an end if not how would we appreciate it. Everything becomes mundane given enough time and i think forever maybe more than i could stand x

edit.. sorry but i feel the need to ramble again to Adams rib below..
i understand the point but to have eternity to travel and do everything we want this is forever were talking about so if i had a billion years to spend on one of my dreams and another billion for every dream i have after that. what then?i will still be left with as much time as when i started, and every time a question in religion is answered why is the get out clause always that its beyond our comprehension? i understand perfectly happiness and dreams what i cant fathom is wanting them to never end

Yes but before you let that go to your head, remember that in Heaven we will have a changed and renewed nature. There isnt going to be any sin or longing for evil or death that we are aware of. So if you trust that God is great, dont worry about it. And which would you rather spend an eternity in, Heaven or hell?

Is it possible to believe in God, but not want to be in heaven with Him forever?

I should say so! There are many persons who could simply not tolerate being in the presence of such holiness for very long.

C.S. Lewis writes of a 'tour bus from hell' which is visiting heaven for a time. The driver tells all these poor damned beings, who have been burning in hell for lo these many years, that "We will be leaving promptly at 5:00, anyone not on the bus will be left here." Everyone was back on the bus by 3:15!!!

Ultimately God is the one who determines our future in eternity by his infinite judgement, but what concerns me is that someone would not want to live in Heaven? I should think if you did a survey of every Christian on this earth both living and dead, they would all say, 100 percent that they would like to live in Heaven!

I think you need to have a chat about this to a minister or strong Christian friend to discuss what is behind this feeling. Maybe it is a hard life here. Of course no-one can determine what Heaven is like, but hey, no more tears, no more pain .... I will keep you in m prayers.

Perhaps the problem is that you have not got a good understanding of what heaven is about. No you cannot choose, read the Bible, you are going to heaven. Look at what the Bible says about the alternative too.

I feel you do not grasp the concept, time is different on the other side, the Bible says a day is as a thousand years. You
will not feel this way,no pain, no worries,Jesus tells us we have not seen or heard, and can not imagine what is in store for us.I will be most thankful if I go to heaven.Jesus can not tell a lie.

You have to be saved to go to heaven. And if u say that u don't want to go to heaven then plz read the Word of God carefully.

Romans 10:9,10 "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

Wen v die v go to heaven or hell as god judges. If we ar saved we r saved from eternal damnation. The moment we die we either r in heaven or in hell. So it fr us to choose.

Ask Jesus ur self, if u doubt my wrds. His answer is usually more effective thatn anyone's including mine.

God Bless You. I hope u find the answer to ur question.

no one who is living in a human body wants to exist like this forever, and your not wanting to in eternity is natural and I think logical.

in eternity, you are in a perfect body, perfect enviroment.

don't sweat it. I was terrified of the living creatures that glorify God continously as a kid. Now I'm not terrified of them.

we all grow

Well, it states in the Bible that only 144,000 will live in "heaven". The rest get to live on the new earth. Paradise earth. When you think of all t he people that have been here, 144,000 isn't alot. And more will be with God. Just on paradise earth. The ones in heaven get to help rule. The rest will be living here happily. That's where I want to be.

I used to worry about this, and think that I really wouldn't like it. However if you believe that eternal bliss awaits the virtuous, you can also trust that it will be pleasant! Theologists suggest that there will be no awareness of the passage of time.
