where should you put your shoulder bag and/or papers/envelope before you are interviewed? should i put it at the back of my chair? under my chair? to my lap? beside me? could someone give me a clue? sometimes when you are interviewed the interviewer has no table so what's the proper way of putting your things?

I usually take in a folder with my resume and qualfications etc and put that either on my lap or on the table. I put my handbag on the floor to the side of my feet. That way, I don't need to rummage through my bag to get anything out. I also know that if I need to stand, my handbag won't be in the way.

Best of luck for your interview.

Bags etc should be left under / beside your chair

I would definitely suggest put your folders and papers at the edge of the desk by you - it shows to the interviewer that you have done the work and have it to hand should you need to recall anything.

More important is your attitude, credentials, experience and preparation for the interview. Be welI prepared for potential questions and I know you will do fine.

Finally...Good luck! :)

Your bag should go on the floor beside your chair. Your papers should be in your hands ready to present. You'll need the right hand free to shake on introduction or meeting, so if the papers are too much for one hand, hold them in one arm, book-fashion, beside you, not in front.

beside you, on the floor, against your chair or on the back of your chair.

Not on the interviewer's desk; not on your lap.

on the back of the chair, on another chair in the room, or on the floor.

Put your car key in your pocket and leave your bag in the car.

On the floor, next to your feet - but no so close that you'll trip on it once you stand up.
