I don't remember a show, but Merrill-Lynch used to have a commercial where a bull walked through a china shop and didn't break a single piece.

The saying refers to the belief that a bull will become enraged and run amok when it sees the color red, since most westerners had this stereotypical idea that chinese shops were full of red colors during the early 20th century due to the chinese belief that red is a lucky color. Hence putting a bull in a red filled china shop would drive him mad. As for the bull in the china shop episode, I'm not sure and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe there was one such episode in the TV series "I Dream of Jeannie" starring Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman.
