“I know French is the second language here but I wanted to learn Spanish, the thing is I don't even know if it will be a disadvantage for me or an additional advantage?
This only pertains to my half blood Spaniard background”

I’m from Ontario! Don't keep me stupid yo! Quebec is really different among all places in this big cold country, Quebec is just a fart in a mitten!!

Well, it really depends where in Canada but I still say you should learn French first and Spanish later, if you want.

If you're talking about the province of Quebec, learning French is a must if you really want to appreciate and enjoy living over there.

I should know.

in a global perspective, taking spanish will be more beneficial than french; there's more spanish-speaking people in the world.

french use to be more important, but that was when France was considered a major power in the political and diplomatic stage.

However, it is really important to know your culture. It will do you well to have a working knowledge of french.

Anywhich language you chose, you will benefit.

I have meet 3 people from canada that took french and they say if they could go back they would take Spanish!! just thought i would let you know

I can't see it being MORE of an advantage to learn Spanish rather than French, but in some places (I'm gueesing particularly TO) it may be as much of one.
