I don't know Daniel, I don't even feel hate towards anyone I do know, but it seems some people are so hateful on here without knowing anything about the person they are aiming it at.

hate usually comes from fear. we are not born to hate, small children have to be taught to stay away from strangers because their natural inclination is to trust people. we are, tho, born with an instinct to form social groups, and those groups sometimes can feel threatened by outside forces. the arab world was overrun by european colonists and forced into second-class status, so part of their hatred of the west is their fear that we still want to colonize their territory [not entirely unjustified]. individuals can develop hatred from fear just as well. a white supremacist might fear that a person of another race will displace him from his job or home, or threaten the stability of his family. of course, there are many other factors involved in creating a hateful person, but i think the most avid haters are fearful.

Children are taught to hate. Children play happily with all religions and races until they are told they shouldn't like them. We aren't born with hate in us. Sad really. There are folks who never even know why they hate a group of people. They were told to hate them and after years of hearing it, they believe it.

When a group of members of another nationality beat up one of your best friends so badly he ends up in a critical condition in a hospital, wouldn't you hate them, despite not seeing them in person?

They "profile" the person or group they've developed a hatred for and imagine they possess traits and characteristics that they abhor to validate their irrational prejudice! Sad.

It's called being human. we are born to hate people even in the slightest way. It's either because of the way they look, their religion/beliefs or just plain being themselves, it's a mystery. I suffer from this affliction as well.
