Hi michelle, i wish some people on here would stop believing that this is their full time job and that they are QUALIFIED vet surgeons! Ye gods! You've asked a perfectly simple question that warrants a perfectly simple answer. Your little friend has a serious problem and being the loving, responsible dog owner that you so obviously are, you have hopefully rectified by taking him to your vet for an operation. This condition has nothing AT ALL to do with his diet, his treats, the fat in his food, parvo virus or anything else, he was BORN with it !!! There was nothing you could have done to prevent it because its not your fault, you wouldn't have known about it , unless you've got x ray bloody eyes like some people have!, so please stop beating yourself up over it. Its not his parents fault either, its just something that happened when god was making him, perhaps the angels dropped a stitch when they were making his stomach and his bowel slipped in !!! The op would have sorted all that out and although he's still poorly, he'll make it i'm sure! He'll have to have lots of tender loving care when he's out of hospital but he's obviously been used to that and i bet he can't wait to come home! Wish him a speedy recovery from all of the genuine animal lovers on here and stop worrying yourself silly over it, its not your fault!

I think you mean he has a hernia. Some can be hereditary but most of the time, it just happens. If this is what he has, you need to get the dog into surgery to get it repaired. This can be a very serious problem so be sure to have him taken care of.

My dogs had a bacterial an infection strengthen from itching and scratching and the bumps we defined to out vet have been purple and variety of whitish interior the middle. Our vet stated that it replaced into very possibly a staph an infection and the bumps generally look zits. dogs and human beings alike have staph on our dermis yet while my dogs itched and scratched the staph comes out of their pores and reasons a staph an infection and the effect is what seem as though little pinkish zits that seem to have pus in them. A staph an infection is extraordinarily ordinary. We took him in to the vet and he placed him on liquid variety of antibiotics (liquid replaced into extra straightforward to manage than putting a pill down his throat) that we gave him on a regular basis to clean the an infection. it quite is with regards to the goose poop or deer poop and brought about him to itch and then scratch and then it develops into an infection by using them scratching. it may additionally be a flea allergy, or a nutrition allergy, and fully unrelated to the incident at your grandparents. call your vet and get your dogs in for an appt. Sounds very treatable yet you shouldnt permit it choose for too long while not having him see a vet. ultimate needs!

it happens all the time just like it happens to humans,if he has had sugery and is on a drip he will soon be fine, the best way to prevent it is to keep him ultra healthy lots of walks and a good diet and lots of water.and you have obviously been keeping very good care of him so there shouldnt be any more problems,he just had a bit of bad luck thats all and soon he will be up and running

Did he have an Intussusception ? Sometimes it's one of those things which just happens, it can have an hereditary factor and can be caused by chronic diaorrhea. You really need to ask your vet. Look up Intussusception on Google - there's lots of info out there.
Hope your pup recovers well & make sure you tell his breeder.

Well. if he ate it its normal and nothing will happen but if he didn't then something is seriously wrong. But I doubt that, it must have ate poop or it is something else, because your puppy got poop in his moth by some other means than eating it, it would have looked very ill so ill that you would not have bothered asking this question on here, but to a vet.

What are you talking about?
And how do you know?
If you're talking about a "twisted intestine",...?.... then cause could have been a sudden huge intake of food or fat intake.
However, I'm still not sure what you're saying here.

Some dogs eat their poo and get parvo. It can kill the dog. Is that what you mean?
