BTW... I'm apathetic agnostic: We don't know and we don't care!

This has nothing to do with atheism, so I will answer in a biblical way. Man is body, soul and spirit. God is spirit.

We worship God in spirit and in truth.

The word spiritual assumes the existence of spirit.
What is spirit? what it looks like ?
If I am a spirit , can I observe my spirit just as I
can see my image in a mirror? Or can I walk out of
my body as a spirit.
I believe that the word 'spirit' is a metaphor
invented by simple ancient minds to explain
the existence of 'life' in body.
However we can understand the 'consciousness' as the
state of being awake, and being so , interact with the
external environment.

Therefore we need to restate :
Human consciousness is a state of being awake.

Yes,It's is spiritual but not religious,in any manner what so ever and more over,it's acceptable in atheism.Let's not confuse spirituality and religion, as both are distinctly different. As a matter of fact, many people find a religion to adversely affect their progress in spirituality. What happens at atomic level is a different matter altogether.

Human consciousness is when man becomes "aware" of his "awareness". This is the beginning of the growth of human consciousness.

Spiritual inclination is when man endeavors to investigate that which is unseen. Discovering something that is scientifically impossible to prove.

Evolved Consciousness and spirituality slowly become inseparable. They learn to co-exist and soon become a oneness. This leads to self-realization within man.

it so happened that i've studied the matter and have certain experience with AI systems of this application. going through analysis of countless experiments (including both AI systems and humans), i come to conclusion that it is technically possible to build a system, which would be 'conscious' to the same extent humans are. i could present you evidence, though in length it's a middle sized book you see :)

so, artificial system certainly is no 'spiritual' in religious point of view. in my experience, the system reflects on what it's taught, hence 'spirit' of the designer lives in it, in certain implication of word 'spirit'.

regarding religious concepts. in many schools of buddhism it is believed that there's no such thing as 'spirit' or 'soul' of a human and that such concept is an illusion. on the other hand they have a different view on consciousness, which is believed to be one with the world, i.e. the world is stated a manifestation of the consciousness. interesting concept.

there are many points of view on this matter you see. to judge them correct, you need to study further on what 'spirit' is.

good luck to you.

they must "care" or you would come apart....melt and meld into another consciuosness....buddhist belif is that we are empty and I belive that is correct technically..Atoms are empty but how did Buddha know except through his divine search for source....? that is a wonderful discovery for 450BCE...Don't you think so?...Because scientific fact seems to coincide with that very nothingness..also your idea...But whether or not your atoms care may only be the tip of your iceberg...I think they know something you haven't comprehended yet..I would want to find that out right away just to get on with your concious journey here on this planet in this solar system in our corner of the trillions of stars in our small kind of galaxy...do you get the gist....I suggest you find some sacred water blessed by a true source of knowledge and drink it(not kidding there)..Because your atoms need to know that you believe in them!!!

Lol call the blind again!
And they will never call unto anything but themselves. As you can see the Lord discribed you all very well... Look Left he is right there the one that guides you all. And Allah SWT is just watching and his messenger Muhammed Peace unto him is doing the very same thing which was allowed as a mercy and blessing to all creations. Al hamdoullah

"Spiritual" is just something religionists call what they don't understand. According to cutting-edge science theory, consciousness (mind) works on a quantum level. So it's more appropriate to say "My Quantum path... blah blah blah..."

It can be, what you call "spiritual" - it doesn't have to be. It depends on the person. I don't think Donald Trump or Paris HIlton are "spiritual" but I think they're conscious.

It can be - depending on one's belief system. To me, consciousness is consciousness; spirituality is spirituality.
