So I'm 16 just started high school again two weeks ago. And already I've missed two days on account of this sleeping problem I've had. The thing is I cant sleep at night. I get off the computer turn off the tv and get in bed. And I end up just laying there for hours at a time. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression last year. But since then I really haven't been all that depressed. Now I'm afraid my anexity/depression is coming back. I worry a lot about things more now and I find my self being sad/down a lot of the time. I broke up with my girlfriend a while ago, and that really didn't help any of this at all. I really don't know what to do now. Its 1am and I should be in bed but I just cant sleep. I would ask my mom to set up an appointment with a doctor/counselor today but she might think its just an excuse not to go to school. Could some one please tell me what to do?

Actually I dont go to bed right after I get off the computer. I get off about an hour early.

your computer acts like sunlight reacting with you melatoma in your skin ,making it harder to sleep. you need to take a break at lest a few hours before sleeping to get a good rest.meditate or just read a while youll get sleepy and doze off.the extra stress wont tlet you relax also, looooong relationships are almost as bad as a divorce, especially if you really loved them. make a schedule of when u can do things it will help you not go directly to bed from the computer and set and alarm when your supose to leave the computer!!..................if im on the computer and dont take off right before sleep i have problem also still.hell i forget what time it is and have the same problem if i dont set a goal of when to get off and set a timer something. u just need to train yourself

professional counceling with a dr. or pastor is a good idea. there are multiples of sleeping pills out there today.
I use melatonin, it's a natual supplement & u can buy it w/out a pres. right now, watchsomething boring, or warm milk,or decaf, or herbal tea,
do some muscle relaxation techniques, like tensing up 1 area at a time & hold it for 5 secods then let go & take a deep breath & hold it & let it go slowly, do the muscle thing starting at your toes all the way to the top of your head. it helps ........

well your first problem is you try to go to bed right after you get off the comp. your brain is still going crazy with all of the information you just put in it! try to read for like 30 min before you go to bed at night it helps calm your body down and bring your stress levels down. my brother has anxiety and depression and i know he has a lot of trouble sleeping at night. i on the other hand dont have it so i cant help you out on that pt except just try to do as much as possible to calm yourself down before you go to sleep at night.
