My 1998 Maxima is very well maintained at 125,000 miles, I would trade that and add $2500 to get in return a 1999 Pathfinder with only 75,000. Both cars have been in our family since the beginning so I know they have been taken good care of. Im just not sure if I want to pull the trigger and make the deal. Thanks for your help.

I wish I had the link to an article I read on MSN about keeping your car past 200,000 miles. But it basically said that the longer you keep your car, the more money you save in the long run. If you can keep your Maxima for that long, then do it. Save the $2500 for something else (maybe even a downpayment on a new car in the future).

Depending on what you're trying to do and where you live. Are trying to get another deal with no monthly pymts??? If that's the case, then go for it!!! But do the deal only after you've had the vehicle inspected thoroughly to make sure it is mechanically sound, maybe even get a carfax history report. Also check and see if all the receipts are available for all the maintenance done on the vehicle all the way through to most current servicing date!!! Most times that'll help make your decision a lot easier!!!! Good Luck. By the way, if you can afford the monthly payment and don't mind driving something bigger, here in Houston, TX they're having a huge sale on their '07 inventory of Nissan Titan Extended Cab Trucks, running around $18,000.00, if you're interested in saving money and getting a brand new truck with your trade-in and the $2,500.00 in hand!!!! Of course when you have that kind of cash in-hand, and a well maintained vehicle to trade in, with receipts and an NADA blue book print out showing what your car is worth, you have good ammunition there to use as a bargaining tool!!!!!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE 1998 MAXIMA WITH ONLY 125,000 MILES ON IT.

IF IT IS LIKE YOU SAY AND IT HAS BEEN VERY WELL MAINTAINED, THEN KEEP IT.

THAT MAXIMA SHOULD EASILY GO PAST 200,000 MILES.
