We can know some things about God's character, and His plans for us, because they are outlined in His word. For instance, this is God speaking to those who trust in Him: "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, to give you hope and a future".
So I can be assured that God desires to (1) have me prosper, (2) not come to harm, (3) have hope (4) trust Him for my future. Pretty nice promises. And that is only one verse!

It seems like that's the ultra religious person's way of explaining the unexplainable. Sure you can get into the mechanics about a car accident and the forensic science about the cause of death of someone, but when you ask a question like "Why did they have to die?" then you leave yourself wide open for that answer. It's pretty much a given that since God is the Almighty and the all knowing then He must have his reasons.
By the way- that does not mean that it's NOT part of God's plan.
As far as what God's plan is, damned if I know. How many times every day do you hear a story that boggles the mind? I wonder aloud many times, " What the hell is He thinking?"

Christains, Muslims, Jews etc..etc......are all humans. The humans were very very clever ( and that include me also ). Everything that happens we cannot run away from using our reasoning to put our thoughts at rest. Through reasoning we branch out to more thoughts and reasoning. Through reasoning also give us the ability to concoct ideas that are very far fetch and can invoke feelings of utter dread and profound beliefs. Things unknown has a very special place in all of us and those very very smart will use this to exploit, gain recognition and power. In the end we have so many religious beliefs that only separate us further and further. Is this God's plan to have us like this ? Of course we will say NO 'coz we have reason to believe God is good. So we have God as something good and the reasonings show us what is meant by bad and we name it as Satan..Demon Pazuzu or whatever la. Then come among us who does not mean us bad and coin in a word known as Faith, " Have faith...do not lose faith," and a few more words of the same expression so that we remain sane but faith alone does not guarantee us anything so we're back to square one trying to reason out things until we drop dead.
Well, that's how I see it. Very confusing but nice. Only God can clarify all these confusion because He is responsible to all that were happening with the Human world. Not for a second I'm blaming Him. Who am I to blame Him 'coz He is GOD I'm just like everybody else a tiny grain of sand doing my thing as human beside a very very vast sea.
Well. I have some more to go on here but I think I just would like to stop my reasoning here. Anybody esle try to reason something else is anybody's right. Aha !

Well; As a Christian, I'll explain this to you "in a nut shell" because this topic would require tons of explaination.
"God's Plan" is an objective set out by God, before He formed mankind and the earth to sustain him in. This Plan commenced from the time our first parents - Adam & Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden with a crafty & subtle Cherub called Satan [a.k.a. "Devil"]. God never fore-warned Adam nor Eve about Satan being around to seduce their minds. Further along, God prophesies the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus , to defeat Satan (see: Genesis 3, verse 15). and restore them into His good graces. Moving quickly along, God throughout the Old Covenant through His prophets, tells us of the the new age to come upon this earth and this is also, made reference to, in the Book of Revelation. The earth will be re-conditioned at the return of Jesus Christ and there will be no more war, famines, disease nor people dieing. There will be a series of resurrections to occur, where any people who ever, died will be made alive again (Revelation , chapter 20) . But before this is all achieved, this present age we live in will go out with being literally, a the very brink of destruction, at the hands of the misguided genius of mankind. Again; this is a very, very, brief description lacking alot of the detail. You know it's God's Plan because the Bible both, has predicted and describes the state or condition of this world and its societies would be like, prior to its demise. i.e. Global warming, disease, changes in the weather, major changes in the middle-east, socially ammoral people, violence and a general "coldness" to one another - to name a few. Exactly how far along we are, is anyone's guess.

I don't know what 'religious' people mean by that. I know what I mean by that though, let me tell you about it.
God's plan is written about in the Bible. And that has a lot to do with His plan for the Earth - the future and all.
As far as His plan for me, well, I have to tell you that is pretty difficult to explain. There is a mix between the help I get from all the study I do of Him, and what I am willing to admit as being my own thinking and what His Spirit gets me to do.
So that gets pretty complicated.
But this I will tell you:
It's like playing guitar. If you find yourself getting tense while trying to do something new, you aren't doing it right.
The reason why I can say this is because God wants us to realize that we are not constantly about to fall off the truck. Like a lot of Christians act like. We are supposed to have confidence in Him, like we are a part of His family.
So what I am saying is, the more you study the Bible, the more you will know Him. And that part of ourself that wants to bicker about what He thinks and does, we need to tell part of us to shut up! It gets old real fast and it gets in the way of the understanding stuff about Him.
This the the MOST important part, receiving His Spirit. If you don't have His Spirit living in you, you had better get it. And the only way to get it is by trusting Him by believing in His Son, Jesus. Otherwise, you haven't got a chance in Hell!

I guess you would say that I am "religious". I am a Christian. God's plan is just that. His plan. God knew His plan for you from the moment He created you. You know that you are following His plan when you are following His guidelines, laid out for you in the bible. I'm glad you asked and I hope that you get some good answers.

God's plan for you? It is good. Know that. Also know that you were created for a purpose.
"The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren is a good read to know what your purpose is. The Bible, too, of course.

You should question anyone who claims they know GOD's plan.
FYI - GOD signifies theres only one GOD, whereas god would be like writing about all the gods believed in mythology and by the indians..sun god etc, etc.
GOD or some God vs god
Anyhoo, no one knows GOD's plan save what is in The Bible.
that being to send his Son to judge over the world in CHRIST's second coming.
And the promises GOD made to HIS followers about eternal salvation for those that pray for forgiveness and Love GOD with all their heart mind and soul and Love their neighbor as they love themselves.
How about you read the Bible from beginning to end, so that you wont be as lost as you appear, and so suspeptible to what others perceptions are.
That would be your best bet.
This wya you dont have to rely on others for what you will already know should you read The Bible in its entirety.
P.S. Lets be blunt.
The only plan GOD has ever spoke of was to punish those that disobey HIM and reward those that accept HIM.
How you do so, will depend on the intent within your heart!
Because remember, all any relgious group can ever hope to teach someone is that The True Church of the GOD of Abraham Isaac Jacob And JESUS CHRIST is within ones heart!!!

Most of the Chrisitan people are in prisons or have suffered abuse of some sort, so I guess it's God's plan to help them stop suffering by putting there minds in a different plane. It gives them a sense of hope.

It's just passing the Buck. When they can't fathom or handle a situation, the idea of God's plan saves them from being called incompetent or it's equivalent and they can retain their honor,or that's what they think. On the one hand they call a God almighty and on the hand they assign him with a assistant's job. What a contrast and what a Snobbery?
