No one CHOOSES to be gay... they are born that way. We are all born with the capacity to fall in love with either gender. No one truly knows why some people will be gay, but it's not a choice. It just is.
Did you choose to be hetero?

It's your perception of what is normal, and what feels right. It would be as much of a desire of a straight or a gay person. Everyone wants and needs what feels right.
It's not a matter of choice. I can't imagine a 40 year old man leaving his family and kids to be with a partner for no reason. His desire to have what feels right is too overpowering. If that's really how you feel, go ahead and allow yourself a great life.

It's all about getting a good feeling. They get some great feeling from it and that's why they like it.
It's all about choice. There's no conclusive evidence about homosexuality being genetic. Even if it is genetic, it's still a choice. One of the things taught in a basic psychology class is that genetics does not equal destiny. Anyone who claims this is just looking for an excuse to not take responsibility for their actions.
I don't hate homosexual people. I think that most of them are good people, they just made a bad choice.

Why did God choose Christ?
Because it was meant to be!
Why are you asking this question in the R&S Section? Would you not receive more knowledgable answers in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Section?
EDIT: Since you state you are Gay, and a Top Contributior in the LGBT Section, I would ask as to why you chose to come into this section to ask this question when you already know the answer? Makes me wonder as to what your motives are. (Raised eyebrow)!

I don't know - maybe they and enjoy being ridiculed, insulted, and disrespected by people, and honestly want to go to hell?
Yeah, right. People can't help being gay any more then they can choose whether to be black or white, or blue eyed vs. brown eyed, etc*
It's disgusting that religious texts and bigotry affect such high levels of government.

I am a Christian gay male. I did not choose to be gay. If I could've chosen to be straight, I would've.

Probably for the same reasons that Christians choose to hurl stones at people whom don't do as they are told by people of religion.

Because they want to be part of a group of people who are despised for no reason?
Was this a rhetorical question to make people think?

I suspect that if women knew how vile and disgusting we men really are, at least half of them would be gay if they had the option.
