an appendix used to be described as a vestigial structure(a primitive structure that used to serve a purpose but has now turned obsolete) but recent study shows that the appendix has something to do with our lymphatic system, pretty much like our tonsils. studies show that people with removed appendix early in life grew up more prone to infection. the opening of the appendix is prone to invasion by virus or small food particles, especially small seeds which causes it to get blocked and eventually swells up.:)

are you talking about that tiny useless organ at the end of your intestines? it has no physical fuction and has a tendancy to get enflamed causing infection eventually resulting in emergency surgery. I guess its only use is keeping a doctor in practice
