I'm right there with you. I have had the same, exact experience. And like you I don't want to be good because the fear of a hell-like place or be good because good is going to reward me. Most people choose religion and the hope it gives about the afterlife because they are unhappy with their current lives. I honestly do not believe you have chosen hell and satan. How can you choose something that does not exist. I don't think you have been misguided either, but let's for sake of argument that you have been misguided, if the God of the Bible is all He's cracked up to be on that book, then I'm sure he'll forgive you. But, honestly I've found some major contradictions on the Bible and experience so much discrimination from those who call themselves Christians that I don't see how God, if he exists, can be in their life. So live your life fully without fear of punishment or expectancy of reward.
