In the movie Love Story, Jenny tells why she is an atheist. She says she can't imagine a world more beautiful than this one. She goes on to list some things she likes, like classical music. Are there any atheists who agree with her reasoning?

one can always certainly imagine a better world.
but i do agree that through study and examination the natural world, the universe, is much more impressive than any of the miracles or treasures of heaven or tortures in hell described by any religion.

I don't really agree this is good grounds for being an athiest, because I don't think Jenny is being imaginative enough.
Hopefully, in the future, we will find ways to reduce poverty and improve the standard of living, which would be a more beautiful world than this one.
I don't really think this works: "I can't imagine a world more beautiful than this one. Therefore heaven doesn't exist, therefore God does not exist." ... ehhh... I'm sure she meant something else.

Sort of .My moment came when I placed my hand on the Great Unconformity in Grand Canyon National Park and realized that there were 1,200,000,000 years of depositional history missing between between my thumb on the bottom and my index finger on top The planet that my thumb was touching was devoid of life But the planet that my index finger was touching was teeming with life.It was just one of those incredibly humbling moments that theists never get to contemplate; Life should not exist on this planet and yet if does AND it's an accident. WOW !

No, not really. Sure, this world has a lot of beauty, but it has plenty enough pain to mar that beauty, also. Personally, I'd like to think that there was a more beautiful world beyond this one. I'd LIKE to think that, but we don't always get what we want.

I do not agree with this statement. What does this have to do with atheism? All this is basically stating is what creationist believe. We do not believe in a God because there is no evidence. Music is something that anyone can enjoy. What does God have to do with music?
