(yes i know cars need oil, but im talking about the holy kind)

But seriously...
is there biblical support to show us that we can 'anoint with oil' something other than a person
i.e to bless it, or consecrate it etc.

In the Old Testament, the priests had to anoint the various items in the tabernacle (place where people worshiped God). That was a sign of consecrating those things to God. The oil represented the Holy Spirit. The priests and kings were anointed with oil as well. (Exodus 40: 9 - 15; I Samuel 16: 12, 13)

Today, of course, since the outpowering of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) we can have the Holy Spirit anointing us (Christians), empowering us to witness and live for Christ. (Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16, 25; I John 2:27) We also see in James that if we are sick, we are to call for the elders of the church and ask them to pray for healing for us, anointing us with oil (James 5: 14, 15).

So to answer your question, we have the Old Testament example of anointing various things, and the New Testament example of anointing for prayer for healing, but no specific reference to anointing other things in the New Testament (that I know of). (The cloths mentioned in Acts 19: 11, 12 may have been anointed with oil, but the Bible doesn't tell us that.) However, in view of the fact that oil represents the Holy Spirit, and the fact that we are to be led by the Holy Spirit, I believe it would not be wrong to anoint a car or other things if we feel the Holy Spirit is impressing that upon us. I have been in prayer meetings where various things have been anointed with oil and prayed over. The important thing is to hear and obey what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do, and also to trust in Him, not in the oil or the act of anointing something with oil. If He leads you to anoint a car or anything else, go for it!

It's not exactly Biblical to annoint a car, and couldn't be since cars didn't exist when the bible was written.

But, there's no harm at all in doing it, and it's not against the Bible to do so.

quite common All I do is force my automobile to the gas station. Then I close off the ignition. Then I take out the keys. After that I turn open the gas tank door Upon which I open the gas tank door next I unscrew the cap Then I fill it up with gas from the gas pump. shortly I pay for the gas. Afterwards I screw the cap back on Then I go away it quite is how.

Our car was blessed by a priest. Few months later, it was stolen. Haha.

Why not? Christians are to pray without ceasing. Doesn't that include annointing and blessing?

what would be the purpos of anointing something that has no soul. when you go to heaven or hell you cannot bring anything with you. there is absolutly no reason on earth for this to even be thought of. lol.

Maybe not biblical because cars came way later, but in my belief god is everywhere and everything. So god is also the car. So why not?

you could pray over it. The Lord wants us to have a nice vehicle that is in good running condition, safe, and dependable. Pray for your vehicle. I see no harm. :o)
