My 7 year old has been trying to crawl for months now. She pushes up with her feet but when she does this she pushes her face on the ground, when she pushes with her arms she drags her legs. Any ideas on how to help her with this?!
Also she has been able to sit on her own since she was 3 months and as long as she has our hands she can pull herself into the sitting position but she can't seem to figure out how to pull herself in the position herself. Any ideas for this as well?!
I know all children learn when it's right for them but my daughter can stand and took her first steps the other day and I just think it might be more helpful for her to be able to at least be able to getting herself in the sitting position herself.
Also is it normal that she is trying to walk before she can do the other things?! or is she just learning in a different pattern?!

I'm not trying to push her, I am trying to help her. She get upset when she tries to crawl and can't do so or tries to sit up and cannot do so.

I also want to add that no one was holding my daughters hand when she took her first step. Nor was she holding on to anything.

An inflatable peek-a-boo roll along toy is perfect for learning to crawl. Bruin make one that is affordable.
Children are born with a primitive walking reflex; when they're standing and their hands are held they'll put one foot in front of the other. This looks like walking, but they're on tip-toe. They'll do this holding onto furniture too. Some developmentalists say that this needs to be inhibited (by crawling) before the child can learn to walk heal-toe properly.

7 months is still very very young. No need to worry about crawling yet. Each baby goes at their own spead. And some try to walk very early as my boys did. If the baby isn't crawling by age 1 talk to the doctor. Talk to doctor next visit if you are concerned abuot it.
There is a connection with crawling and reading. If your baby is slow your doctor will advise you on that.
My boys took steps at 8 1/2 months. My daughter was 14 months and clueless about walking. I figured it wise not to push her, but at 14 months she really should be walking...so I took her hand off the door one day when she was standing and took my hands and moved her legs. She caught on instantly. My boys on the other hand. I wish they were slower becasue once they walked they ran.
This is probably your first baby and each step is closely analyzed. Give baby time.

first you said 7 month old then in your details you said she was 7 years old, you may want to fix that. Anyway encourage her every day be excited when she tries to. Also show her she can pull herself up by working with her to get her to stand on something. Have her stand up on the funiture and put a toy on the couch she can look at, make sure you are close to catch her because she WILL forget she has to hold on. But after a few tumbles she will realize she has to hold herself up.

generally at 6 months they only start up sitting up with help and it takes a whilst for them to tug them selves up with prepare. I presented a sippy cup with particularly of formula to my young little ones between 6 and seven months at meal circumstances while they began on solids. All toddlers strengthen in any different case. You and the toddler's well-being care expert can bypass over your toddler's progression, see how a methods she is, and then talk what she might or is probably no longer waiting for. Crawling takes somewhat longer. they start up crawling between 8 and 10 months. countless tummy time helps issues alongside.

Just put her on floor and let her learn some babies do things at a different stage/ages. It is going to take time and u just have to wait. Maybe get on the floor with her and crawl.

Just let her do her thing. The things you describe are totally normal. AND some kids never crawl, they just start walking.

well dont you get frustrated when u cant do something too? she will do it all on her own you just have to let her do it all on her own. my niece is 9 months and she started to try to stand and walk before she could crawl too. and she still stands on her feet and just has her arms on the floor. but like i said just let her do it on her own she will get it eventually.
