Well, it's obvious the answer you want. I just wish more people of your faith really DID act with love and friendship as their guiding principles.

Q: "...and done so in a father/child manner?"
===
There is no other organization in the world that embraces the family unit like the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its people do. With genealogy work literally embedded in the doctrine of the Church, and the Holy Temples of God popping up (almost 150 completed or in the planning/building process), there is no better witness of the relationship of man to our Heavenly Father.
In the Holy Temples, men & women are sealed for all time and eternity, not just "until death do you part." The doctrines continually promote the Saints to progressively obtain and build a relationship with their Creator, Savior, Examplar, Master, and Judge.
Rooted on the belief that man is the spirit child of the Father, and the purpose of mortality is to be proved by the Father if his children will do all things "whatsoever we (the Father and the Son) shall command them," our purpose in this life is to progressively (line upon line) obtain the glory of God (through repentance and obedience to the commandments), that we may overcome physical and spiritual death, and be worthy to return to the presence of the Father.
Lines of Authority also tie priesthood holders directly back to Jesus Christ: Another way in which the Saints consider their relationship with the Master more personal, as records are kept with each ordination of the priesthood by the laying on of hands.

Everyone is so smart...some of these responses...ooooo...i get goosebumps the intelligence... yeah right..that's sarcasm.
What we see here is simple. People are not smart enough to choose their own "religion" as they always choose what feeds their gut or their sin. Like Hollywood. You know, whenever they get "religion" it's always a religion that permits their lusts and flesh to run rampant....eastern religion or some old Jewish mysticism...you know, where sin is never mentioned. Suckers.
People refuse Christ because of inner darkness. They brush it off with quoting Eastern philosophy and all...but they know deep down, without Christ, you go to hell. They know this deep inside, but this knowledge never reaches their carnal mind. This is why they get so hateful toward those who point this out to them.
Eh...want can you do? Heaven and hell wait for mankind. CHOOSE.

In Hellenic Paganism, the Gods are honored in the fashion you describe. There is a strong current of reciprocity in the religion as it is practiced. For a good basic understanding of Hellenic Polytheism I recommend the book: KHARIS: Hellenic Polytheism Explored by Sarah Kate Istra Winter, also known as Oinokhoe......

Pastafarians have an interesting relationship, as we regularly eat the the equivalent of our god as pasta (the Spaghedeity/ Flying Spaghetti Monster) with tomato sauce and meatballs (or vegetarian substitutes).
