So...I'm being baptized October 13th(was going to be Tuesday but I had to push it back because I missed a week of church)...and I've heard the sister missionaries about living temple worthy and stuff like that....
But what does that even mean??

Appointments for baptism? Wouldn't it be smart for the missionaries to plan a baptism since so much work goes into it? They have to bring in the elders from surrounding wards(since we're a branch or something? I dunno) and they have to get the white garments for baptism and I'm sure they want to be there for my baptism, so they mark it in their calander so they don't scheduel something and miss it...

Sweeettt!!!! You are getting baptized, Congrats!!! I once burned my arm warming up water for a baptism we had so it wouldn't be cold for the investigator. Some other things were invovled but I got a pretty good scar on my arm......yep, good ole' mission memories...............lol...
anyways, ask the sis missionaries to give you the questions that are asked for a temple recommend, that way you can know exaclty what you need to do. Some have been put on here already and I believe they have a list on the Church's website.
I'm sure they have it all planned out already, we always had baptism ready to go quite a few days before. And the white clothes are just jumpsuits, I think they are pretty funny and/or cool.
Endure to the End (ETTE) Godspeed!!

Reading your quesiton, I'm going to assume you're about to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As you heard in the discussions, our temples are only open to a select group of people (unlike our chapels). In order to enter the temple, you must present a "temple recommend". This paper (signed by you, someone from your bishopric, and someone from the state presidency) certified that you are worthy to enter. Your worthiness is determined in an interview similar to the one you had (or will have) to see if you are ready for baptism. If you are worthy of baptism, you are worthy to enter the temple.
As to your concern, meeting houses with a baptismal font already have white jumpers for baptism, but you can wear your own all-white outfit if you prefer. It is customary for other missionaries serving in the area to attend the baptism, but it is not required. You may choose any worthy priest (or higher) to baptize you and any elder (or higher) to confirm you a member of the Church and confer the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Two other elders are asked to witness (make sure the pray is said word perfect and that you are completely baptized by water).

Before I answer the question I feel I should make you awear the temple is the house of the Lord. A dwelling place for God. A house of prayer, and a house of learning. The most holy place on earth
With that understood, to enter, you need to keep the commandments. (Others have already told you.) This is not by any means saying you must be perfect. If that were true, we would just build them and shut the doors forever. A certain level of worthiness and understanding is required before entering. But don't worry. Your ward and your bishop will guide you in your preparations before entering. You have nothing to fear.
PS- Congradulations on getting baptized.

Hi there...congratulations on your upcoming baptism. What a neat experience!
Yeah we Mormons have a lot of jargon that you will pick up...
A person who is "temple-worthy" is someone who is worthy to enter the temple to make sacred covenants and receive blessings from our Father in Heaven.
To be worthy, a person needs to (and remember this is on the honor system...)
-Have a testimony of Jesus Christ, and believe in Him and worship Him
-Sustain the General Authorities and local leaders
-Live the Word of Wisdom
-Be honest in all your dealings
-Be current with your child/spousal support (if this applies to you)
-Have harmony with your family
-Pay an honest tithe
-Obey the law of chastity
Here is an article by one of our Apostles, Elder Russel M Nelson which talks about the temple.
I can honestly say that preparing to enter the temple was a great joy to me, and actually being able to go to the temple and receive the blessings there (especially being sealed to my family) was the greatest day of my whole life. There is no place on earth where one grows closer to God.
They will ask you to be a member of the Church for a year (minimum) before you enter the temple...the covenants you make inside the temple are most sacred (not secret!) and we do not talk lightly about them. But you can ask questions of your bishop and he'll be happy to answer them.
All the very, very best to you!

Being temple worthy means to:
1. Practice the Word of Wisdom.
2. Pay your full tithing.
3. Obey all the commandments given by the Lord.
4. Pray and fast often for spiritual growth.
Congratulations on your upcoming baptism!

In reading this question, and many of the answers, I would like to say that I'm grateful that I can walk into my church at any time, knowing that there is nothing I have to "do" for God to accept me. That was done by Jesus Christ, on the cross.
My worthiness comes from nothing I do. It all comes because of what He did.

If you live the commandments (Word of Wisdom, Law of Chastity, are active in church . . . ) than you are temple worthy. If you want to know all of these just look on lds.org for specifics. But if you are worthy to be baptised, you are probably worthy to attend the temple also.

jesus didnt make appointments for baptism.and he didnt place rules on it either.
you believe, turn your life over to him,and get baptized, not only by water, but with the holyspirit.
anything after that is church tradition, and man made doctrine.
