what was up with the stage being in the middle, I mean I thought it was more like the MTV awards than the Emmys.

In terms of winning mmm maybe yeah.

This year must be the most puzzling Emmy I've ever watched.

So many faves were left in the cold. So many surprises came out of nowhere. I do have some "pleasant surprise" though, like the victory of 30 Rock over the heavy faves The Office & Ugly Betty. But I feel sorry for The Sopranos as it only managed to win 1 award this year (although it's quite prestigious)

Agreed.. Happy that Jon Oliver won - but not happy about leaving out Colbert, Trevor Noah and Samantha Bee - they have all done a phenomenal job of either filling some big shoes - or in Sam Bee's case - finally getting a GREAT female political comedian's own show! Am also so disappointed they cancelled Larry Wilmore, I wish he would have at least gotten an Emmy nod. Worst Emmys in years!

It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Ray Romano was a flop, and it was a flop on Fox's part to put this guy on as the first "act", when people either love or hate Romano (personally his voice annoys me). The trap-door in the stage wasn't enough to redeem the horrendous seating. The censoring seemed botched (cut away to spinning disco ball and mute), just like the show. People didn't seem prepared (or at times seemed surprised by their scripts), almost all the awards seemed rushed, and the song and dance numbers seemed awkward to the point of being forced (two men singing "Who do you love, sweet baby?" to each other on one of the most homophobic TV neworks?).

Elaine Stritch was the highlight of the night, and it's ironic that she basically shafted TV with her joke.

...and I didn't even touch on the obviously controversial decision to censor Sally Field's comment on (the Iraq?) war.

What was Fox thinking? Or were they?

All the awards suck this year. They have award shows for 2007 before the year even ended.

Yo nashville --
ALL awards shows are rapidly turning into unending garbage !! VMA --- BET ---- ect ect !! They ALL are over produced hype that go on and on and on --- and unless you are a rabid fan of someone that is going to have a ten second appearence --- why bother with them ??
A lot of filthy wealthy super elite self centered lunatics gathering to kiss one another's behind for being EVER SOOO talented and amusing and SO SO SO adorable !!!
Jezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -- Give me a break !!!
Rather spend time watching paint dry !!!

Totally sucky! Too much censoring and bleeping, theatre in the round was awful...totally took away from the glamour and excitement and the audience seemed bored, disinterested and annoyed.

It was ok, exept for the fake laughter an actor has when the camera is pointing on him/her.
