My husband passed away when my son was 18. They had a good relationship and my son really took his death hard. It has been nine years and he still gets emotional about his father. But now he dreamed he saw his father lying on his back on a stone slab. He appeared to be breathing. But there were flames and he knew he was in hell. His father was a good man and they loved each other. He can't get over this dream. What does it mean, please?

i think it probably means that one day your son is going to do something bad and make a rong chose in his lif some were dowen the rode and his father is tring to tell him to not make thoughts masake in life -_-

it's hard to separate the emotions from this message because they are so strong.
If I had this dream, I would ask myself a couple key questions:
1) What part of my dad is being punished? Or worthy of punishment?
2) How does this apply to the choices I'm currently making?
Your son may "know" that dad was a good man, but even good people make dumb decisions. Your son may be preparing to make one of those dumb decisions, and dad is exactly the person to let him know it doesn't work.

Sometimes a dream is just that - a dream. It does not have to refer to some divine intervention (but the Bible clearly indicates that is possible).
If your husband died in full faith in Jesus Christ there is no reason to doubt his salvation.
Perhaps your son is working out some of his own guilt feelings - guilt that can be resolved by confessing his sins even privately to God -
