This is reading an entire book, or chapter.. not looking up quotes in support of "Awake" or "Watchtower" really reading the bible.. but reading a section from start to finish. then discussing about what that Chapter or book means to you .. ( NOT VERSE)

YouAsked4it: You made the comment of me bashing those who do nothing but follow god. That could not be further from the truth.. All of those who follow the teaching of the WT&TS are to be loved and welcomed .. it is for the malicious governing body.. the twisted elders ( not all elders but those who truly manipulate their congregations) .. and my God who ever organizes their conventions who are the target of my loathing.

The Jehovah's Witnesses, have a Bible reading schedule, which covers the entire Bible about every two years.
So, if one is a JW, they read the Bible completely, every two years, or, 5 times in a Decade.

Personally, I read 3-4 chapters every day-which gets me though the bible once each year.
In addition to that, Jehovah's Witnesses, as a group, comb through the entire bible verse by verse over the course of every 5 years in our Theocratic Ministry School.

Since answering questions on Yahoo my bible reading and research has greatly increased.
One of my favorite area of bible reading is to look at the quotes people use to prove a point and then read the chapter and surrounding verse, to see if their understanding agrees with the context.
I also do this when studying the quotes from the Society.
Reading Scripture without context leads to many false Ideas.
(This is one example)
John 10:30.
The Father and I are one (What?).
Context, Context, Context:
One what? The Greek word (hen) ‘one’ literally means ‘one thing’ or ‘in unity’
vs 25 Jesus tells us about the works he and the Father are doing.
vs 29 Jesus tells us that “What the Father has GIVEN ME (works to do) is greater than all other things”
vs 30 the Father and Jesus are united, one.
vs 32 Which works are you stoning me for?
vs 33 – 35 Jesus tells us he is equal to the human gods of Ps 82:6.
vs 36 Jesus identifies himself not as his Father but as his Father’s Son (John 8:42-45),
Jesus is the Son, not part of the Son, Jesus is the Christ, not part of the Christ.
vs 37 believe the works.
The context to John 10:30 shows: I and my Father are one (united in works).
This agrees with John 17:11, 20 – 22;
.

All Witnesses read a few chapters a week in addition to ton's of other bible verses. We are now in Ezekiel and then we study those few verses until we get through the entire bible.
It can take years but most have read those books a thousand times I know I have. Most of it is committed to memory.
We once had a blind brother who gave talks and acted like he was reading the bible but he had it memorized perfectly.
Thank you for worrying about our spirituality.
We appreciate your concern.

WF, I read a chapter or two of the Bible every night before I go to bed. It is a personal regular Bible reading schedule I have. Although, I have other times set aside to read the Watchtower, Awake and other Publications like Revelation Its Grand Climax at Hand!, Examining the Scriptures and likes of them, my daily Bible reading is a must.—Matthew 4:4.

Not nearly enough, sorry to say. Between work, school, cleaning house, taken care of my family, and all these other house details, bills, the list is endless I would really love to have the time to reread the bible a few times. If you have the time enjoy it and take the time to read everything closely it truly is a treasure!

I read the bible with my children everyday.. I have read it 3 times and we are working on their First. Why focus your question only on JW's, you write your question seeming to be knowledgeable of bible things but you forgot to apply love. Was this an attempt to bash a certain group who live their lives to do nothing but worship the true god?
