I have the book THE WEIGH DOWN DIET...by Gwen Shamblin. A friend gave it to me. I believe this is the book I'm suppose to read in addition to God's Word.

This isn't meant to be funny but I was thinking that maybe you could try fasting. Fasting and praying. Try for a day or two and then slowly start eating with small portions of non addictive types of food. (sugar, bread, processed foods) and everytime you get the urge to eat something, just keep your will strong with resistance and with scriptures that help encourage. Your'e just going to have to take over with the authority Christ gave you. Nothing has power over you unless you give that spirit of addiction or anything negative for that mattter permission.
You can do all things in Christ who stregthens you.

Just look at the food as your worst enemy and try to get in touch with it only 3 times a day, and then eat healthy(documentation about that is all over the net) and few, just as you feel a little satious till next meal comes. Find comfort in stuff like books, movies, music(Mozart can make you forget about eating for a while). Make this a habbit and learn to keep it. Don't make friends who like to eat a lot too. Is that hard?

Stop eating so much, think before you eat. The body is a machine and food is fuel. "Is consuming this right now going to result in optimal health?" Addictions are hard, but you have to keep thinking.

One of the best ways to deal with addictions/bad habits is to replace them with something positive that you really enjoy. Keep working on it and don't knock yourself when you fail--just start again.

Socializing with friends, doing art, gardening, all come to mind. Praying helps too.

unfortunatly we all have to eat. But better food rather than drugs, cigatettes, alcohol, violence, ir any other unsafe addiction. Mine is cheetohs, pizza, Coco- cola, and those wanton / cream cheese/ crab things at Chinese restaraunts. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

looking to invisible friends won't help.

Eat less. Watch what you eat.
