is this some kind of a scam. the check looks real but im not sure if there trying to hack into my bank account or something. any ideas on what to do.

It's a scam. My friend got the same check you got. Don't cash it. Shred it.

If you cashed it then they would have your bank info on the back when you endorse it.

Just think for a second. If you never do business with them, why would they send you a $5000 check? And the reason why they send you the check? If you don't have answers for those questions then you know it's a scam.

No company in the right mind would send $5000 to stranger for no reason.

Phony check processing has people cash bogus checks ,
Send back a portion in cash then later the check bounces and your bank rips you a new one .

Or, sometimes those are contract discounts . . .
You signing the back of the check , equals consent to a contract like a timeshare or something else .

For $5K , I am guessing it is a Loan , and the rates are right there with the payday vampire loan rates .

NO one gives away money , it always comes with a hook . . .
They just count on suckers to bite . . .

If you did not request it, it is a scam. Shred it and move on.

It is likely a loan with very high interest and fees. If you cash it, youwould have to pay it back. Read the information that came with it.
