First I would like to say that I am fully capable of paying for the car, insurance, and gas on my own. However my parents will not let me buy a car. I was wondering if there is any way in pennsylvania that a 16 year old can legally own his own car. thanks.

Listen to your parents. So you are thinking that having some junky used car is more important than obeying your parents. Sorry you need to get your priorties in order. I know every kid today has a car, and at 16 you are eager to get on the road. But it costs way more than you expect, and it can be a big distraction from school and other important activities.

Sit down with your parents and try and have an honest talk about the topic. See what you can work out. Can you use their car sometimes.

Until your 18 your parents will have to give their approval....so you need to establish your responsibility with you parents and get their trust so you can own and operate a car...good luck
