Once you are 18, you are legally an adult and can live with whom ever you want. Your Mom is trying to scare you into staying home. Don't know what she has against your dad, but she clearly has not been listening to what you want. Just make sure you aren't using your Dad and that living arrangement to scare your mom into giving you what you want. That would be messed up.

Jason, as of the day you turn 18 years old you will be an adult. Check with your dad nto see if it is okay to spend some quality time with him, but please take an active role
in the society now.

Remember this: your mom is telling you a pack of lies in which I hope to God that He is there for you!!!!

No - it's not illegal. When my son turned 18, I couldn't even receive the call from the nurse for his medical tests - he lived at home and was still in high school. The world now considers you as an adult who is responsible for your own decisions - both good and bad. That's the part that's hard for us moms.

At 18 you are free to live where you choose. Unless your dad signed some kind of legal document agreeing to never have you live with him which I doubt!
Mom doesn't want to let go, and think about the reasons why and make sure this is in your best interest and safety to live with dad.

When you're 18 you're an adult under the eyes of the law. Any custody claims that your mother had over you before are now null and void. Once you turn 18 you can live where ever you want.

I don't know your full situation but possibly your mother doesn't think your mature enough to leave at 18. It may be legal to leave at 18 but, if mom knows best, stay home another year or so and when you do leave you will know you are ready to take the world on. Good luck.

At age 18, you can move out... no problem. She may be trying to play "keep-away" from your dad.
Just make sure you check to make sure your dad wants you to move in with him FIRST before making any plans.
Just remember, the grass is always greener on the other side... Dad may be a pain in the fanny.
