my friend told me that somewhere in the bible, you forget everything and everyone and all you know is joy in heaven. if that's so, that doesn't sound very pleasant :-/

is this true?

it is very pleasant; there will be no more sorrow and far far greater things than anything even imaginable in this life, here's the passage ...

Isaiah 65:17 - For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

If you are not in your body and If you forget everything and everyone then you are not really you. And if you are not really you then what is the point of God taking you to heaven? He could take everybody to heaven, erase their memory and everybody would be perfect.

No. that is not true. You forget the pain. God wipes away your tears. Mom's can understand this because eventually we do forget the pain of childbirth because of Joy of having our child.

If it is true, then whatever gets to heaven that used to be me won't be me any more. What would be the point of that?

it can't be true b/c it isn't scriptural.
in the 5th seal, the souls under the altar want to know when Jesus will avenge their deaths. ..... they were killed for their testimony of Jesus Christ. He tells them to go & rest for the time is not yet. they must wait till others are also killed for their testimony of Jesus (during the great tribulation).

this shows us that you do have memory of your life on earth.
however, during the 1000 years of peace (the millennial reign), scripture does say that pain, hurt, war will be remembered NO more.

No. It is not true. No one has ever been in heaven to tell what it is like there.

There is no evidence to support any heaven existing.

Is this true? Just like god, there is no way to prove it to say it's true.
