I'm just so sick of the favoritism with my family & them honoring friends & hating me. If I died today or tomorrow, they'd joke about it laugh, but they're quick to run to a stranger's funeral & cry.

yup, same here. only it's just my mom favoring my younger brother and his friend who's been living here for 2 years. they're crazy, my mom's on all sorts of meds and lets them run crazy all night bring all sorts of theives into the house drink and smoke pot even. my dad has no say whatsoever because she just tells him to shut up. i've been working my butt off since i was 16 (now 21) finished school, and on my way to college and i dont drink or do drugs, i am very responsible and i dont understand why she loves those boys so much. I told her it was either me or my brothers friend, and she chose him. fine, so be it. i'm on my way moving out right now. and you know what? i'm going to have a better life away from negitive people and drama. I hope you can live in harmony someday to, it's hard to come to the decision but so worth it once you get yourself out of a bad situation. if it makes you feel like your not worth much or like you'll never be good enough, leave the situation and find some people to make you feel great about who you are. wish you the best.

People say that we choose our friends but no our family, so I assume that is normal if we love some of our friends more than some members of our family. However, if you get to the point of really dislike each other then, maybe, something is going wrong on your family!

girl tell me about it.my family does the same thing.most of the kids next to me drop out of school while i manage to get into college but they still chose them over me.so i stay away from them if i want to finish college in school and not in jail.

I think everybody does, but it's not that they care about them more, it's just that they are fammily and the expect that unconditional love, to always be there, so they don't have to try as hard to impress them.

Well I am happy to say that most of my family has a great deal more respect for me, & demonstrates their love & caring for me a great deal more than yours does for you.
That's sad for you! :-(

I agree. My family's religious friends mean more to them than I do. Ironically, they mean less to their friend's than their friend's other friends.
