Well id think to enjoy yourself, help others,be loyal to friends and family, do pretty much what you want to, so long as you are not harming others, or society as a whole.
Im christian, but i dont conciously try to live my life by the bible, its more a general moral guidance.
However you can be a member of any religion, or none and have this.

In my opinion, the purpose of life is to:
-Become saved
-Serve God
-Love God
-Enjoy Life
-Endure the trials of Life
-Witness to People so that they become saved
-Expose evil where ever it may be
-Help people

To abstain from all pleasureful things in THIS life so you can be rewarded in the AFTER life by being allowed to indulge in all of the things that you had to abstain from in the earth life
To persecute and demonize anyone who does any of the things that the religion prohibits.
To not make sense.
To close your eyes to reality.
