I agree with Irv. It also means that no action of one man affects ONLY himself. In other words, no man lives in a vacuum where his actions affect himself alone. Nor does he live in a vacuum where he's never affected by any other man's actions. That also means that no man is completely sufficient unto himself, no matter how much he wants to believe he is.

I think it means that every personality is affected by the people around them.

You don't have the personality that you have just from you, everyone in the society, and your experiences, help to mold a person.

even a loner needs people, so no one is an island of itself

I think it means, we all touch each others life in some way, if we know it or not. We all need each other and are dependent on each other in some way, if we realize this or not.
