Well, another poor girl asked a question about her impending abortion, and as always she got "jumped on." However, I wish you'd stop saying "you shouldn't be having sex if you aren't willing to take responsibility." In my opinion, if you accidentally get pregnant, deciding to have an abortion is some women's way of taking responsibility. BC isn't 100%, and some women need abortion as their back up. Also, what would you tell married women in regards to them having abortions? They shouldn't be having sex with their husbands?

Ok, if you know a doctor ANYWHERE in central Florida that will tie my tubes, please do tell. I've tried about 6, and the best I could manage was on who agreed to give me an IUD. I can't spend my whole life consulting with OBGYNs. And, relax, it's not like I said I've had an abortion, Just standing up for the prochoice.

WI Mom, my mother is prochoice and has had an abortion before. She also has 4 kids. And, I'm here on the off chance that someone has a PCOS question (because I have it too) or needs real info about abortions. I feel for some of these poor girls who are scared and just want some answers.

Hey!!
I so agree with you. The is a lovely girl on here who was genuinely after some advise on abortions and she got hounded!! I really felt for her.
I haven't had the need to get a abortion, but however i do like the fact that is there!! if I was rapped, I would have no regret for aborting that fetus.
I am a child from foster care and i still wear the scars of an unwanted child!! People always say put it up for adoption, but not all of them kids get adopted out!! Plus how on earth are you going to explain to them 'I didn't want you'.

A doctor will not tie your tubes until you are over 28 at least!! My Best friend is 25 and has 4 children. She doesn't want anymore and they will NOT tie her tubes. Nice isn't it.
I however cannot use the 'Pill' because it makes me go crazy and i cannot stop throwing up on it. My partner and i have to use condoms. We have 2 yo twin boys and never had a scare in 5-6 years. Once I have my daughter I wish to have my tubes.

I understand what you mean. What's the point of "jumping on" someone who's ALREADY pregnant. All it does is make other people feel like they've "educated" someone who was probably already fully aware of the consequences of sex. Why do people fail to acknowledge the fact that we are all human and make mistakes?

I got pregnant (with my husband) unexpectedly even though we took all the precaution a man and woman can take to not get pregnant. We CHOSE to keep our baby and love, care and provide for him just like we do with our other 2 "planned" children. It was our CHOICE. Just like abortion is a CHOICE. I don't believe in abortion personally, but that's what is right for me. Its not what's right for other people. EVERYTHING in life is a choice and we all have the right to choose whatever we want so..... I guess I am pro-choice.

*I had my tubes tied at 24, but I had also already given birth to 3 children. I don't mean to sound argumentative. I'm just saying that I WOULDN'T have been able to have them tied if I hadn't already had children. My insurance requires you to be either 26 years old or have 3+ children before they will cover the procedure. My doctor also tried to talk me out of getting them tied. He wanted me to have an IUD as well.

I agree to an extent. But then what would you say about men who get a girl pregnant?

Would you say "you shouldn't be having sex if you aren't willing to take responsibility"? I hope not, cause that's the same thing 'pro-CHOICE' people and others will ironically turn around and say to a man.

I got pregnant while taking birth control & I didn't get an abortion. And yes, the married woman either needs to have her tubes tied or her husband get a vasectomy or both. Women don't "need" abortions... they "need" to be the adult they're trying to be when having sex. But hun, you're not going to change anyone's mind on here... you got your opinion, & we've got ours. Don't get mad at us for not seeing your point of view. Voicing our opinions on here is our right... if people only want other people to tell them what they want to hear then they don't need to be asking questions on yahoo answers... Oh yeah, & the girl wasn't jumped on... she was just given an opinion of what that person thought of women who run off to have abortions as their form of BC... You'll get over it & so will she...

In response to the additional details... my mom had her tubes tied at 25 (& that was 20 years ago) so yes there are doctors who will do it. You just have to actually try harder to find them.

Had my tubes tied at 21, so your 24 year old story is bull poopie. On the other hand I am not opposed to abortion. I think it should be up to the woman that has to carry and in this day and age raise the child herself. And unless the bible beaters that "jump" on a woman for getting an abortion are willing to contribute to the raising of that child....shut it.

i totally agree...obviously abortions shouldnt be used as a form of birth control and it is your fault if you dont use any form of birth control and get pregnant, but things happen and people make mistakes, and if a girl or woman is not ready to have a child, she shouldnt be forced to have it...in many cases it would not only be best for the mother, but the child as well...

I don't think it is a question in regards to not having sex it's just being responsible about having sex. like using protection. That is unless a girl is too young to be having sex.
Plus I 've known woman who have multiple abortions, how is that an accident ? If it happened once you would think it would of sunk in, and she would be more responsible about having sex. but then again why be responsible about anything if you can just throw away your pesky little "problem"

Birth control is something to be thought of BEFORE getting pregnant, not after.

Most women who get abortions do it because they don't want their baby. So if I don't want my neighbor, do I have the right to kill them? No, that wouldn't be acceptable, because there are other options to deal with that situation, right? Well, there are other options to deal with an unwanted pregnancy as well.

How do you accidentally get pregnant?
Choosing to have sex is not an accident. Having an abortion is not being responsible. Adoption is always an option as a "back up".

Why didn't your mother believe in abortion when she was pregnant with you?
Enlighten us as to why you are here...

To be fair, I have also seen pro-abortion answers, responding to women who want to keep their babies, that go something like "There goes my taxpayer down the tube you stupid welfare case ppl like you shouldn't have sex."

It's not a pro/anti-abortion thing... it's just a jerk thing.
