I have a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT and I was wondering if I can add a 3rd row seat and how hard it would be if I can.

Since you can't just order a kit, you have to order each & every piece & part individually... I would say it is very hard,. It would actually be cheaper to trade it in on one that has a 3rd row seat.

the frame work should be in place for you to add the seats. Like the bolt holes to attach the seat to the floor. If not you would have to drill in the floor board and install new bolts. Rather simple process.

You would have to order the third row seats like the ones on the 06 and 07 models. Or find a wrecked explorer to get the ones out of it. It's a small area in the rear so they are the only ones you can use.

Then you have to ask yourself, "how will the passengers get to the 3 row seating." The 05 model the 2nd row pivots forward to enter the 3rd row. So take that into consideration
