Here's my recipe.
3 lbs. ground beef suet ( get the butcher to grind it for you)
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 cup sunflower chips or hulled sunflower seeds
1 cup chopped nuts ( walnuts,pecans,almonds,or a mixture)

Melt suet over low heat.Let cool, then melt again.Add peanut butter, and other ingredients.Pour into molds,or a cake pan lined with waxed paper.Chill until firm.Cut into squares and put into suet baskets or onion bags. These stay very firm as there is no corn meal or flour in them. The birds love them. You can add dried mealworms to it if you like, but they are a bit pricey! Also raisins or other dried fruit.

This is the recipe I like; the secret is in rendering the suet, allowing it to cool thoroughly, and then heating it again:

1/2 lb fresh ground suet (I prefer beef fat)
1/3 cup sunflower seed
2/3 cup wild bird seed mix
1/8 cup chopped peanuts
1/4 cup raisins

1) Melt suet in a saucepan over low heat. Allow it to cool thoroughly, then reheat it.
2) Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a large bowl.
3) Allow the suet to cool again until slightly thickened, then stir it into the mixture in the bowl. Mix thoroughly.
4) Pour into pie pan or form, or pack into suet feeders.

Hope your feathered friends enjoy it!
